Passengers can bring extra baggage depending on passengers’ SKYPASS membership level. (Restrictions may apply if passengers are flying with a partner or codeshare partners of SkyTeam.)

Passengers of First Class and Prestige Class can bring 2 pieces of cabin baggage at total weight of 18kg/40lb. Passengers of Economy Class can bring 1 piece of cabin baggage at total weight of 12kg/25lb. Dimensions limits: 55(A) x 20(B) x 40(C) cm or total sum of less than 115cm per piece.

All liquid items must be contained in individual containers no greater than 100 ml in capacity and put in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag which maximum capacity is one liter.
• Liquid items purchased in duty-free shops are not restricted in the quantity or container size, provided that packaging for each item remains sealed.
• Personal medical items need during the flight. (Current prescription may be needed.)
• One lighter or matchbox .(Regulations may vary according to departing countries. Not allowed on the flight departing from China)

How about transfer procedures of Korean Air baggage?
Checked baggage
From one international flight to another: (Example: Incheon to Tokyo to Los Angeles)
• If you book Korean Air international flight with a transit flight of another airline to reach your final destination, your baggage is usually transferred automatically to your next flight regardless of carrier.
• You need only check your baggage at your original departing airport and simply claim it when you arrive at your final destination.
From an international flight to a domestic flight:
- Domestic flights in Europe
(Example: Incheon to Frankfurt to Hamburg)
• Your baggage is automatically transferred from the first flight departure to the next flight to reach your final destination.
- Domestic flights in Korea
(Example: Los Angeles to Incheon to Taegu)
• When transferring an international flight to a Korean Air domestic flight, your baggage will not automatically be transferred. You will need to claim your baggage and check it in again for your next flight.
• EXCEPTION: If you fly to Busan with a Korean Air Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight, your baggage will be transferred automatically to your next flights. (NOTE: If you do immigration procedure at Incheon Airport, you will not be allowed to board a Transit Exclusive Domestic Flight.)
- Domestic flights in the USA and Canada
(Example: Incheon to Los Angeles to San Francisco)
• For passengers who arrive in the U.S. or Canada from another country will need to claim their baggage at their first stopover.
• Because your baggage tag will show your final arrival, so you just need to move your baggage to the conveyor belt after customs inspection.
• Then check-in at counter of your domestic airline for your seat assignment.

What to do if not receive Korean Air checked baggage at final destination?
Mishandled baggage
Firstly, you should report the delayed or missing baggage to the respective airline representatives or to attendants at the baggage service center of carrier you fly to your final destination.
For example, if you booked Korean Air flight from Incheon to Los Angeles and then booked Delta flight to New York, you will need to contact with a Delta representative or the Delta baggage service center. Other steps to take:
• Provide your baggage tag claim tickets.
• Complete the appropriate claim form. You will need to list baggage contents, baggage brand/description, your contact information and other details.
• The information and the status of your lost baggage is entered into WorldTracer, a global computerized baggage tracing system used by Korean Air
For example, if you booked Korean Air flight from Incheon to Los Angeles and then booked Delta flight to New York, you will need to contact with a Delta representative or the Delta baggage service center. Other steps to take:

How to claim Korean Airlines damage or delay baggage in flight?
Mishandled baggage
In the case, your checked baggages are damaged or contents are missing, you must notify in writing to Korean Air within 7 days of your receipt of the checked baggage.
In the case of delay, you must complain to Korean Air, at the latest, within 21 days of your receipt of the checked baggage.
In case of delayed baggage, Korean Air compensates one-time payment USD 50 to the passengers if the arrival destination is not their hometown and do not have any acquaintance (family or friends) to get help so that they can buy necessary goods.
In the case of delay, you must complain to Korean Air, at the latest, within 21 days of your receipt of the checked baggage.
In case of delayed baggage, Korean Air compensates one-time payment USD 50 to the passengers if the arrival destination is not their hometown and do not have any acquaintance (family or friends) to get help so that they can buy necessary goods.

How to prevent lost bags when flying with Korean Airways?
