Korean Air will try to deliver your baggage on time. However, in the case your baggage is misplaced we will strive to return it within 24 hours.

If your baggage is lost, please notify a Korean Air employee at the airport. To check the progress of your bag search, call the regional office where you made your report or go to At the airport menu on our web site.

We will try to contact owners of unclaimed baggage when a name and address or a telephone number is available. Thanks to scanning technology to identify the location of all unclaimed baggage we will help passengers quickly find their property. Bags that are unclaimed after seven days are sent to our headquarters in Incheon, where continued efforts are made to locate bag owners.

Restriction to weight and size and quantity of free baggage allowances varies with passenger itineraries, ticket classes, and SKYPASS membership grades.

• The sum of three dimension dóe not exceed 158cm/62in and the maximum weight per bag is 23kg/ 50lb or 32kg/70lb depending on your ticket class and itineraries. Bags between 23 and 32kg (51–70lb) may incur additional charges depending on your allowance. You may find your free baggage allowance on your right side.

• For the safety of the baggage handlers, only baggage with the maximum weight of 32kg/70lb, regardless of ticket class and/or extra baggage payment is accepted for cariage. In case, any the baggage’s weights and measurements are in excess of the limitation (158cm high, wide and long) may be rejected.

Baggage allowance on Korean Air flights to/from America (except to/from Brazil)

- Passengers of Economy Class can bring 2 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 23kg. From the third piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be chargedKRW 100,000 (or USD100 or CAD100)/24kg~32kg, KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of Prestige Class can bring 2 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the third piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 100,000 (or USD100 or CAD100)/24kg~32kg, KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of First Class can bring 3 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the forth piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 100,000 (or USD100 or CAD100)/24kg~32kg, KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of Economy Class can bring 2 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the third piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 175,000 (or USD175 or CAD175)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 175,000 (or USD175 or CAD175)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of First Class can bring 3 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the forth piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 175,000 (or USD175 or CAD175)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 175,000 (or USD175 or CAD175)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 200,000 (or USD200 or CAD200)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of Economy Class can bring 1 piece of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 23kg. From the second piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 130,000 (or USD130 or CAD130)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 50,000 (or USD50)/24kg~32kg, KRW 100,000 (or USD100)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 100,000 (or USD100)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of First Class can bring 3 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the forth piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 100,000 (or USD100)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 50,000 (or USD50)/24kg~32kg, KRW 100,000 (or USD100)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 100,000 (or USD100)/158cm~203cm.

Within Asia (Including Guam/Palau), except Korea - Japan / China / Hongkong / Taiwan / Mongolia:

- Passengers of Economy Class can bring 1 piece of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 23kg. From the second piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 100,000 (or USD100)/piece. From the third piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 75,000 (or USD75)/24kg~32kg, KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of Prestige Class can bring 2 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the third piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 75,000 (or USD75)/24kg~32kg, KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of First Class can bring 3 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the forth piece, passengers must pay fee at KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged KRW 75,000 (or USD75)/24kg~32kg, KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged KRW 150,000 (or USD150)/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of Economy Class or Prestige Class can bring 2 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the third piece, passengers must pay fee USD 75/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged USD 75/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged USD 75/158cm~203cm.

- Passengers of First Class can bring 3 pieces of checked baggage. Each piece cannot exceed 32kg. From the forth piece, passengers must pay fee USD 75/piece. If your baggage is overweight, passengers will be charged USD 75/33kg~45kg. If your baggage is over size, passengers will be charged USD 75/158cm~203cm.

Passengers of Economy Class can bring 20kg of checked baggage. Passengers of Prestige Class can bring 30kg of checked baggage. Excess baggage rate is KRW 2,000/kg.

- Children in both international and domestic flights of Korean Air can bring the same free baggage allowance as adult. In addition a child can bring 1 stroller and 1 Car seat (or Bassinet).

- An infant can bring 1 piece up to 115cm/10kg and 1 stroller and 1 car seat (or bassinet) in international flights. In domestic flights, an infant can bring 1 stroller and 1 car seat (or bassinet).
