HELP CENTER

+ Do British Airways require passengers to reconfirm their flights?

Booking

No, when travelling with British Airways passengers do not need to reconfirm if their flights are confirmed, even if their documents from their travel agent say they need to.
+ How to make a booking for my infant who wasn’t born when I made my own reservation?

Booking

Please contact your local British Airways sales office, where they will be able to book the ticket for your infant and take payment - currently you cannot do this on website ba.com. Our sales office will create your infant's reservation, link it to your own and you will receive an e-ticket receipt in your infant's name.
+ How much do I have to pay to keep the seat next to me?

Booking

Passengers can pay to keep the seat next to them free. The following guidelines may be useful when considering this, before they contact us to book.
+ Can I change my name on British Airways tickets?

Change

Yes. The name of a passenger can be easily corrected over the phone due to most spelling mistakes, all of the flights on your ticket are exploited by British Airways. This type of change is free of charge, however if the taxes, fees, carrier imposed charges or fuel surcharges on your ticket have changed since you made the booking we will need to take any additional payment at this point. If you booked through a travel agent or on a travel website, please contact them directly.
+ What to do if I want to complete a change one of the people booked to travel?

Change

If you have made a reservation for the wrong person and you find this out within one day of making the reservation, we have a 24 hour cooling off period in which you can call British Airways Customer services and cancel the booking and receive a full refund.

This guarantee is not applied to situations of:
- Reservations made on a flight leaving within 24 hours of the time you book.
- Reservations where immediate payment isn't required.
- Package reservations or flights booked with hotels, car hire, transfers or experiences (they have their own separate conditions)
- South African domestic only services, operated by Comair
+ What to do if I need to change the date or time of my BA flight?

Change

Bookings made directly with British Airways
If your reservation was booked less than 24 hours ago, the easiest way to change your flight could be to cancel it and start again. BA Airways permit you to cancel your booking and require a full refund without penalty cancelation, up to 24 hours from when you make the original reservation. Refunds under these circumstances can only be requested by calling our contact centers.

Bookings made with a travel agency/online travel company
Your travel agent/online agency is responsible for supporting you with any aspect of your booking.
+ What are terms and conditions of change date of British Airways flights?

Change

Booking changes made outside 24 hour from when you make the original booking may be possible online in Manage My Booking if your ticket allows them. Each fare type has its own terms attached which possibly include it being restricted, non-upgradeable or non-refundable (although some taxes paid are refundable) - we don't have one standard change fee or cancellation fee across all British Airways tickets sold so we can't tell you here how much it would cost to change your booking; they amounts will vary by booking. Generally the lower the fare the more restrictions there will be.
+ Can I change / use my return ticket for a one-way journey?

Change

If passengers need to change all or part of their journey, they'll need to contact British Airways or travel agent where they booked their ticket with. If passengers’ fare type allows the kind of changes they need, BA will recalculate the new fare for their proposed change.

It's important to remember that flights listed on your e-ticket can't be used out of sequence - this means that if you don't tell BA in advance about the change you need and choose not to travel on one of your flights, it will unfortunately invalidate all remaining unused flights on your e-ticket and they will be automatically cancelled.
+ Do British Airways apply service fees through any of sales channels?

Change

Yes. British Airways may be applicable service fees if you need to make a change to your reservation, cancel your flight or buy new tickets. The amount you pay depends on many different factors, such as which country you are in or how flexible your ticket is.
+ Can I use my maiden name after I am married to book BA Airways tickets?

Change

No. Because of airport security reasons and immigration measures, you can't use your maiden name to book British Airways tickets but have your passport in your married name, or travel on a ticket showing your married name and have your passport in your maiden name. It's also no longer possible to simply take your marriage certificate as a form of identification when you check-in.
