HELP CENTER

+ How to make a booking for my infant who wasn’t born when I made my own reservation?

Ticket

Please contact your local British Airways sales office, where the team will be able to arrange the ticket for your baby and take payment - currently it's not possible to do this online on website ba.com. They'll create your baby's reservation, link it to your own and you will receive an e-ticket receipt in your baby's name.
Please note: your baby will require his/her own passport for any travel not wholly within the UK.
+ How many fare types of British Airways Economy class are there?

Ticket

There are three fare types:
- Flexible: Y, B, H
- Low: K, L, M, N, S, V
- Lowest: Q, O, G
+ Where do I find my British Airways flight reference number on eticket?

Ticket

With confirmed flights, passengers will receive a travel reservation PDF which will contain your flight reference number via their registered email. Passengers can use it to check in online and add extras to their flights like extra bags, meals and pre-paid seats.
+ How can I book an open British Airways return ticket?

Booking

If you hold a ticket which has an open return flight, or if you wish to make an open return booking (i.e. booking your outbound flight for a specific time and date and leave the return flight open), please contact our Sales Team, where one of our agents will be happy to help you. Unfortunately, you can't make these bookings on ba.com just yet.
+ How do I get help with my British Airways booking / ticket?

Booking

The travel agent/ travel website that made your reservation is the "owner" of your booking and is responsible for supporting you before or during your journey, as part of your contract with them.

You may even have paid them a service fee for making your booking, which will include terms for them to help you with any queries you have about your flights or ticket - this will consist of making any changes you need, correcting a ticket if there's a spelling mistake in a name, or cancelling your tickets if you're unable to travel, as well as providing other travel advice.
+ Where can I find out the booking class (fare class) on my BA Airways ticket?

Booking

A simple visual guide on BA’s official site that will help our Executive Club members look up their fare class.

If you've purchased tickets at a travel agency and the above steps don't help you, please contact your agent and they'll be able to tell you straight away.
+ How can I upgrade my booking to a higher cabin on BA Airways flights?

Booking

Bookings can be upgraded at any time before travel, subject to seats being available on your flight and the rules associated to your booking/ticket - you can do it on tickets booked directly with BA at Manage My Booking, Baing cash or Avios.
+ How do I select the seat number or type that I want? Do I have to pay?

Booking

Everyone can choose their seat for free during check-in on ba.com, from 24 hours before departure.

Some people can choose their seat for free earlier than that, depending on a range of factors - this would include their Executive Club tier, class of travel, customers with disabilities, and those travelling with infants.

If passengers wish to select your seat before free seat selection becomes available to them, they can pay to choose their seats. There are a range of prices, depending on the booking class and the type of seat. We provide standard seating, exit row seating (within 14-4 days before your flight), and twin seats on longer international flights (two seats on their own together at the back of the aircraft to the side of the cabin).
+ Whether British Airlines flights are overbooked or not?

Booking

Like all major airlines, there are more seats opened for customers to book than the number of seats in aircraft. Therefore, we do overbook our flights because we know that some passengers with reservations will fail to check in. Our computer system provides detailed historical data on each flight to help us carefully control the level of overbooking.
+ What are the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode products?

Booking

Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are products provided by Visa and MasterCard in conjunction with the bank who has issued your card.
