Children traveling alone (without being accompanied by their parents or legal guardian) are treated to be Unaccompanied Minors. British Airways provide a service to support children travelling alone from their point of departure to their final destination.

The service is available for children between 5 and 11 years of ages traveling without an adult who is at least 16 years old.

British Airways does not accept to transport children under 5 years old, unless they are accompanied by a person at least 16 years old.

In most cases, children traveling alone will be charged the adult fare. In addition to the flight price, the Skyflyer Solo service fee per child, per sector, is approximately:
- $50 for short haul flights and flights within the UK
- $75 for long haul flights
+ What are restrictions on transporting children on BA Airways flights?

- Children above 5 year of ages can travel alone only on a single sector, direct, non-stop flight.
- Children from 6 years old can travel alone on any British Airways flight.
- Check that all visas and other formalities have been finishes.
- The Skyflyer Solo service must be reserved and paid for together with your child’s flight. If not, cancellation and re-issue fees will be charged.
- Skyflyer Solo service must be booked at least 48 hours before the flight’s departure time.
- Due to the lengthy process for applying visa clearance for the escort on routes to Algeria, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Russia, British Airways provides only a limited number of reservations for unaccompanied children on these flights.
- Skyflyer Solo service is not applied on flight numbers BA001, BA002, BA003 and BA004 (Club World London City).
+ In what circumstances does British Airlines not accept to transport children?

British Airways cannot accept to transport children in cases of:
- Children traveling on flights which include a transfer between London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports.
- Children on journeys which involve a night-stop, transfer, or stopover more than six hours, unless you have arranged for your child to be met and cared for at the transfer point. Full contact details must be provided before the child can be accepted for their first flight.

Pets that meet the following conditions can travel as checked baggage:
- Due to the size of the cargo hold, British Airways will only carry smaller animals such as cats, dogs, birds, reptiles and tropical fish. (American pit bulls, Pit bull terriers, Japanese tosas, Fila Brazileiros, Togo Argentinos, bulldogs, Pugs and Pekinese are not accepted).
- Animal must be at least 10 weeks old.
- Animal more than 6 weeks pregnant require veterinarian letter.
- Your pet can comfortably remain in its kennel for the entire flight.
- The kennel meets all requirements (see below for more information).
- Your pet has all necessary health documents required by your destination (see below for more information).

Charges differ for pets depending on the size of container, weight of your pet and distance being traveled. Cargo charges will be quoted at the time of reconfirming your pets travel with British Airways World Cargo (maximum 14 days prior to travel).

Additional handling, local government, and customs clearance charges may apply at the departure airport or destination, please contact your local British Airways World Cargo office to find out more.
+ What are the container requirements of BA for pets?

British Airways accepts to transport your pet if you meeting following requirements:
- The container must provide enough room for the pet to stand up, turn around and lie down conveniently and comfortably.
- The container must be strong enough to protect your pet during transport, be secure enough to contain it, and have sufficient ventilation on all four sides to ensure air quality in the container will not deteriorate.
- The door must be secured in such a manner that it will not open accidentally and your pet cannot escape during handling and transport.
Your pet's nose and/or paws should not be able to fit through any ventilation opening or door mesh.
- The container must have a water pot and a food easily accessible to British without opening the container door.
- Fibreboard or wiremesh containers are not suitable for air transportation.
