Vietnamese airlines and international airlines to Vietnam are required to instruct and recommend passengers for using masks on the aircraft and when entering airports in Vietnam.

Following the conclusion of the National Steering Committee about boosting Covid-19 prevention, the Ministry of Transport has issued a written recommendation for using masks to limit the risk of disease transmission to passengers on public transport due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic and high risk of spread in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Transport requests the Directorate for Roads of VietNam, the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Vietnam Inland Waterway Administration, the Vietnam Railway, and the Vietnam Aviation Administration to urgently instruct transport enterprises, all drivers, waiters and passengers traveling on public transport (buses, taxis, trains, ferries, airplanes, etc.) for wearing masks during transportation.

Directors of airports, railway stations, train stations, bus stops and bus stops on highways deploy propaganda and remind people to wear masks when entering and leaving these areas and other crowded places.

In particular, in order to limit the spread of Covid-19, this Ministry directs the Vietnam Aviation Administration to notify Vietnamese airlines and international airlines to Vietnam on the implementation of instructions and require passengers entering Vietnam to use masks. At the same time, the airlines should propagandize about epidemic prevention measures of Vietnam.

The Ministry of Transport also proposed the Vietnam Airport Corporation to provide and distribute masks to passengers who don’t have masks.

In addition, security staff who work at the gate of the airport terminals are responsible for reminding passengers to wear masks when passing through airports, in order to ensure health safety, limit cross-infection to others.

To strictly manage passengers transiting in Vietnam, international airports are required to arrange separate areas for them. In case of suspicious signs of illness, visitors will be refused to enter. All passengers entering Vietnam must declare honestly and fully in medical declaration. The fraudulent declaration will be strictly handled in accordance with the law.
