The compensation of 9W to baggage depends on the level of baggage damaged. However, to avoid baggage damage during transportation, Jet Airways recommends passengers to pack their fragile items carefully to avoid damage, breakage or spillage, if not the airline will not be responsible for damage.

In case of delayed baggage, passengers must report to a Jet Airways representative or baggage agent in the baggage hall before you leave the airport. It is important to do so as soon as possible so the airline may obtain information pertinent to locating passenger luggage.

Yes. Representative or agent of Jet Airways will create a Delayed Baggage Report for passengers. Passengers will be asked for contact information, and a description of baggage and contents to assist in the search.

If passengers must make interim purchases such as toiletries, please ask a baggage representative of to inform passengers of the airline’s guidelines.

An intensive search for missing baggage of passengers will commence from the time the report is lodged. Representative or agent of 9W will update passengers regularly of the outcome.

In rare cases where the bag is not recovered within 14 days, Jet Airways will settle passenger’s claim up to maximum liability of INR 450 per kilogram of checked baggage (for flights within India) or as limited by either the Montreal or the Warsaw Convention (for international flights), as applicable.

If the value of your bag contents exceeds Jet Airways' liability, you may wish to consider purchasing baggage insurance through your own insurance company, prior to travel.

For lights within India, Jet Airways' maximum liability for lost or damaged baggage and lost contents as a result of damage is INR 450 per kilogram.

For international flights including the domestic portion of the journey, subject to the Warsaw Convention, the liability limit for delay, damage or loss is approximately USD 9.07 per pound (USD 20 per kg) for checked baggage. Where the Montreal Convention applies, the liability of the Carrier for the delay, damage or loss to checked baggage is limited to 1,000 Special Drawing Rights (SDR) per guest.
