+ After buying American Airways’ upgrades, when will my upgrade balance be updated?

Once passengers buy upgrades at airport kiosk when check-in or with an airport, their upgrade balance will be upgraded immediately. If passengers buy these upgrades before check-in, after 2 hours their upgrade balance is available. Their online upgrade balance will be seen 24 - 48 hours after purchase.
+ When will AA allow my systemwide upgrades be deposited and when they are available for me to use?

Systemwide upgrades are credited to passengers’ account within 48 hours of earning them. American also email passengers whenever they earn a systemwide upgrade, like when they qualify or requalify for Executive Platinum status.
After upgrades have been deposited, passengers can use them right away.
