What are Amrerican Airlines preferred seats?

Preferred seats are provided by American Airlines. These seats have standard legroom seats in the main cabin. Theses seats can be purchased up to 331 days earlier before the departure date. Interestingly, AAdvantage members, AAirpass customers traveling on an AAirpass ticket, oneworld elite-status members and companions traveling on the same reservation, can get the seats free. In addition, full-fare customers, active US military passengers with military fares and their family booking the same reservation and those who have AAdvantage AAnytime award ticket can choose preferred seats for free.

What to do if I cannot take earlier AA flight as same-day flight change not available?

If same-day flight change is not avaible, passengers can choose to standby for earlier flights of American Airlines or American Eagle with the same route on the same day. Passengers can buy same-day standby for select flight up to 24 hours before the original flight. Passengers will keep their orignal flight reservation until they are confirmed on the earlier flight. However, the same-day standby cannot ensure to keep seat on a particular flight. If passengers cannot use same-day standby to wait for the earlier flight, they may remain on the original flight or pay the difference in fare for flight desired and any applicable charges for the change.

What are criteria of American Air for traveling in an exit seat?

To be allowed sitting on an exit seat, passenger must be willing to assist in an evacuation, ablt to operate the exit door and assist others in exiting the airplane. Passenger must be at least 15 years old.
Following situations do not allow passengers to sit in an exit seats:
- A child under 15 years old or another passenger requires caring of adult.
- A passenger is unable to understand printed emergency instructions or verbal crewmember instructions
- A passenger travel with a pet.
- A passenger does not have conditions to perform evacuation functions.
