No. Passenger traveling with an infant cannot check in online for AA flights. In flights not within the US, infants under 2 years old are free of airfare may be ticketed and charged additional taxes.

No. It is impossible. Passengers have to check in before obtaining a boarding pass. If not, passengers will be not allowed to get on board.

For almost flights, passengers can go to the boarding gate. Yet, in some cases, passengers have other special requirements. For example, passengers have to proceed to AA ticket counter before security screening.

For flights within or between the U.S. Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, passengers can check in online between one and 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time. For flights not within/between US, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands, passengers can check in:
- between two and 24 hours prior to your AA flight
- 24 hours or less before your British Airways flight
- 36 hours or less before your Iberia flight
- 72 hours of less before your Japan Airlines flight

For flights of British Airways, Iberia and Japan Airlines, check-in request of passengers will be transferred to the operating carrier's web site.

Passengers will be asked to show US Resident card information when their country residence is the United State and passport nationality is other than the United States.

After passenger’s upgrade is confirmed, they have enough 500-mile upgrades in account to check in. If not being confirmed, passengers will be added automatically in the waiting list when check-in online or check in at the airport.

The self-service check-in of AA is a fast and convenient service helping passengers check in for domestic and some international flights with an e-ticket. The service’s language is available with English, French, Japanese or Spanish. With the service, passengers can choose seat, check baggage, obtain e-boarding pass. Eligible passengers can also standby for an earlier or later flight and request an electronic upgrade.

The machines of self-service check-in are located in front of American Airlines ticket counter for baggage check in, in the ticket counter lobby, before the security checkpoint and in select gate locations for carry-on bags only.For a complete list of machine locations, please see in the official site of AA.
