Each passenger can bring one set of bowling equipment as checked baggage, including:

- One to three bowling ball(s) in one bag.
- One bowling bag
- One pair of bowling shoes.

Bowling equipment weighing more than 50 pounds will be subject to baggage charges.

United accepts camping items as checked baggage. Camping items include:
- Tents
- Backpacks or knapsacks
- Sleeping bags

Certain items made of cloth, plastic, vinyl or other easily torn material and those having aluminum frames, outside pockets, straps, buckles and other protruding parts will be accepted as fragile items. United is not liable for fragile items. Lanterns, stoves and heating equipment that use liquid fuel, propane, butane or similar fuels will not be accepted as baggage unless they are brand-new, the fuel source is removed or the fuel has been purged. If the fuel has been purged, the equipment must be accompanied by a letter from the company that purged the fuel.

Tickets go on sale online two months prior to the flight.

Only individual passengers are eligible for Seat Selection service. (This service may not be applicable for Group Fares). You can request seats when making your reservation. When purchasing a reservation up to 2 days priority to your departure, please select your preferred seat after buying your ticket. Seat selection requests are accepted at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. It is subject to availability and may not be available on some flights.

From 5:00 a.m one day before the scheduled departure time, passengers can select available seats according to JAL regulations. Please note that not all seats are able to select in advance because some seats are reserved for passengers who may need special assistance on boarding the aircraft, or for adjusting the weight balance of the plane. Also note that the range of seats offered for advance selection is determined by the fare applied to your ticket. If unable to select a seat in advance, please make your selection at the airport on the departure day.

Pre-assigned seat numbers may be changed if changing aircraft type, dealing with other operational requirements or any other reason beyond our control.

The Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has promulgated new standards to all Japanese airlines, titled "Operational Regulations, Examination Procedures, Detailed Regulations (Directive of Flight Standards Division, Director)," with the aim to evacuate passengers in an emergency with greater safety. As differences in rules between airlines have been removed, we will be able to facilitate the movement of passengers under uniform standards, and furthermore, by securing assistants in advance to help during an emergency evacuation, we will be able to further increase safety.

The rows adjacent to an aisle that lead to emergency exit door on the left and right sides (cross aisle), the seats rear of the aisle are seen as "seats near emergency exits." Rows that are separated by an aisle and galley, toilet, etc. are not included.

Cabin attendants will give instructions mainly on the 5 steps as follows:
(1) Stop the passengers until cabin attendants have completely opened the emergency exit.
(2) Check that the area outside the aircraft is safe, operate and open the emergency door, under instructions of cabin attendants.
(3) Help passengers to rapidly evacuate after the Escape Slide has been deployed.
(4) Help each of the passengers to evacuate at the bottom of the Escape Slide or emergency exit.
(5) Ask passengers to keep away from the aircraft as quickly as possible.
Cabin attendants may give instructions other than the above, as necessary

In the emergency case, cabin attendants will ask for the assistance of passengers according to standard procedures. If passengers who have agreed to assist are seated near emergency exits, it will be possible to act quickly even in unpredictable cases. Cabin attendants are trained to ensure a rapid emergency evacuation, even without the assistance of passengers. Therefore there are no problems even if seats at exits are not occupied. However, we feel that by assigning passengers, who have consented to help during an evacuation, to these seats, a rapid evacuation can be achieved.

Passengers must be healthy to open the emergency door manually and capable of understanding and doing in accordance with instructions of cabin attendants in an emergency. Though there may be individual differences, it has been determined, under the "Operational Regulations, Examination Procedures, Detailed Regulations" issued by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, that passengers can assist if they have reached the age of 15, and that is why passengers under the age of 15 cannot be seated at exits.

Passengers flying with small children, aged or disabled passengers, and such, and have to help them during an evacuation cannot be seated at exits.
