If the fishing equipment and your checked baggage are over your checked baggage allowance, airport excess baggage fares will be applicable. For example, if your checked baggage allowance is one piece and you are travelling with a bag and a fishing rod, this will amount to two pieces and you will need to pay for the extra piece.

Golf bags and collapsible buggies are transported as checked baggage allowance and are exempt from restrictions for normal linear dimension on Qantas operated services.

Medical clearance is used to assess a passengers who can join the flight or not. Passengers requiring medical clearance may belong to one of the following cases:

• They are suffered from acute or chronic diseases, and they need supplemental oxygen or medical equipment during flights
• Their illness or operation may be aggravated due to the flight environment
• Their own medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps and suction apparatus must be accompanied by them.
• Their illness is considered a potential hazard to the safety of flights, other passengers or crew members.
• They are pregnant women approaching 35th week (international travel) or 36th week (domestic travel).
• They are unaccompanied elderly passengers
• They are infants in incubators
• They are newborn babies within the first 7 days of birth or premature birth
• Passengers on stretchers
• Passengers are suffering from leprosy

The airline has the right to refuse to carry passengers with conditions that may cause adverse effects during the flight. If medical clearance is required, the MEDIF application form (PDF) should be completed by your attending doctor and submitted to Malaysia Airlines at least five working days before the intended date of travel.
