What items are not carried as cabin baggage on Etihad Airline?
Baggage restrictions
Articles cannot be carried as cabin baggage, but may be permitted as checked baggage: Pointed weapons and sharp objects and Blunt instruments.

- Lockable or flick knives with blades of any length, Knives, Meat cleavers, Machetes
- Open razors and blades (excluding safety or disposable razors with blades enclosed in cartridge)
- Sabres, swords and swordsticks, Scalpels, Ski and walking / hiking poles, Throwing stars, Scissors with blades more than 6cm in length.
- Tools that have the potential to be used as a pointed or edged weapon such as drills, drill bits, box cutters, utility knives, saws, screwdrivers, crowbars, hammers, pliers, wrenches, spanners, blow torches.
- Baseball and softball bats, Clubs or batons, Cricket bats, Golf clubs, Hockey sticks

Can I carry with my musical instruments as checked baggage Etihad?

Yes, you can, but musical instruments must be carried as checked baggage only. If in case they excess checked baggage allowance, you will be charged fee with the applicable excess baggage rate according to the regulation.

Can I travel with my sports equipment on flight of Etihad?
Excess baggage
Certain kinds of sports equipment are accepted as checked baggage and charged the fee with applicable excess baggage rate if in case they excess the free baggage allowance according to the regulation.
Sporting goods include Archery, Backpacks, Bicycle, Bowling, Boogie boards, Hiking , Fishing, Paddle Skis, Saddles, Snowboards, Ski boards, Surfboards, Wind surfing boards.
Sporting firearms: The following sports equipment may be agreed free of charge if within the checked baggage allowance include Hunting rifles, Shooting Equipment, Sporting Firearms. If in case they excess checked baggage allowance, you will be charged the fee with the applicable excess baggage rate.
Golf equipment: One set of golfing equipment include 1 golf bag (containing golf clubs and 1 pair of golf shoes) weighing a maximum of 15kgs is accepted to carry as checked baggage allowance free of charge in addition to the ticketed checked baggage allowance.
For the US, Canada and Brazil:
One set of golfing equipment include1 golf bag (containing golf clubs and 1 pair of golf shoes) is accepted to carry as checked baggage allowance. If in case it excesses the baggage allowance, 50% of the excess baggage rate will be charged for the first extra piece. Any additional pieces will be charged the full excess baggage rate.
Surf boards may be accepted to carry free of charge if within the checked baggage allowance. So if the weight excess free checked baggage allowance, you will be charged the fee with the applicable excess baggage rate according to the regulation. Note that it must not exceed 3 meters long.
Scuba gears: One set of scuba diving equipment with a maximum weight of 15kgs is agreed to carry as checked baggage freely in addition to the checked baggage allowance of the airline. For the US, Canada and Brazil:

Guide dogs to lead the blind are allowed in the aircraft cabin (for flights from Abu Dhabi to USA and vice versa only). Etihad also agree guide dogs as checked baggage in the cargo hold with free of charge. Etihad accept to carry falcons in the main aircraft cabin as checked baggage. All important documents must be provided in time.
All other pets are allowed only to transport as manifested cargo and are not allowed within the aircraft cabin or checked baggage. You note that pets are not currently accepted on transit flights through Abu Dhabi.
Important things you need to note: For countries known to prohibit the import/export of animals and birds, pets as checked baggage, please contact the Embassy concerned for the support.

What to have to do when I see a lost or damaged baggage in EY flights?
Mishandled baggage
If you see a lost or damaged baggage after you leave the airport when traveling with Etihad Airways, you can make a baggage claim by completing, and submitting a Baggage Claim Form within 7 days of arrival. Etihad will judge the claim and notify you accordingly.
If you reported the mishandling of your baggage before you leave the airport upon arrival, you will be in possession of a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and can use the File Reference Number provided to trace your baggage online.

Does my baggage go via to my final destination if I have a connecting flight with Etihad Airway?

Yes, if you booked tickets with Etihad Airways and do not leave the airport where you have your transit stop. If you reserved two flights with different airlines, or you wish to have a stopover in the middle of your route, you will have to collect your baggage where you make a stop.
