The conditions to accept to carry Unaccompanied Minors (UMs) on Etihad Airways as below:

Ums may be denied on board at the airport if Unaccompanied Minor service is not required in advance, as there is a limitation to the number of UMs transported on a flight.

Children above 5 and below 12 years old travelling alone are considered as Unaccompanied Minors.

Young adults between 12 and below 16 years old travelling alone without parents or guardians are entitled to Unaccompanied Minor service if the parent or guardian specifically request.

Young adults between 12 and 17 years old are not agreed to escort Unaccompanied Minors.

Unaccompanied Minor form must be fully completed by the parent or guardian and emailed to [email protected] or submitted to one of the local ticketing offices of Etihad Airways. Incomplete Unaccompanied Minor forms shall not be ratified.

Parents/guardian must-see Unaccompanied Minor off at the airport and meet on arrival at the destination (mentioned on the Unaccompanied Minor form).

Adult fare will be applied for Unaccompanied Minor tickets and no additional Unaccompanied Minors fare is charged.

The parent/guardian has to present themselves for check-in procedure and ensure that the Unaccompanied Minor has full travel documents like valid passport and visa if required. These documents must be submitted to the Etihad check-in counters at least 2 hours before flight departure time.

Time for connecting flight must not be more than 4 hours.

In case travel on another airline is involved, the rules of that airline must be complied with. Guests/travel agents must contact the office of other airlines to check rules and conditions for acceptance of the Unaccompanied Minors which may be different to that of Etihad Airways.

Unaccompanied Minors up to 14 years old shall not be ratified when route involves interline travel with American Airlines.

Unaccompanied Minors with medical conditions shall be ratified after obtaining medical clearance from Etihad Airways Medical Center (EAMC).

Unaccompanied Minors are not allowed to sit in the emergency exits.

Children (Accompanied Minors) travelling with adults in different cabins shall be treated as Unaccompanied Minors.

Unaccompanied Minors flying from Abu Dhabi are not eligible to be checked in from Abu Dhabi and Dubai city terminals and are also not entitled for Etihad Coach or Chauffeur service.

Vegetarian Jain meal with code: VJML include:
- Contains non-root vegetables only.
- Does not contain any root vegetables like onions, ginger, garlic, potatoes, carrots or animal/animal by-products.
- Prepared Asian style.
- Suitable for a section of the Indian community who are strict vegetarians.
Vegetarian Meal with code: VGML include:
- Contains all types of fruits and vegetables.
- Does not contain any meat, fish or animal by-products (like animal fat in biscuits).
- Does not contain dairy products.

- Proprietary brands of baby meals are available on board.

Diabetic Meal with code DBML:
- Contains minimum salt, low fat products, high fibre fruits and vegetables.
- Do not contain any kind of sugar (only certain permitted sugar substitutes).
- Suitable for guests with diabetes (low insulin levels).

Fruit Platter with code FPML:
- Contains seasonal fruits.
- Suitable for guests who are fasting or have dietary needs.
Gluten Free Meal with code GFML includes:
- Contains meat, poultry, fish, rice, fruits and vegetables, corn, potatoes, dairy products, chocolate, dried beans and peas.
- Contains salt and pepper, herbs and spices, sugars and preserves, margarine, tapioca and vegetable oils.
- Suitable for guests who need to limit their intake of Gluten (or Gliadin, a protein fraction of gluten), a substance found in wheat, barley, rye and oats.

Vegetarian Lacto-Ovo Meal with code VLML:
- Contains dairy products.
- Does not contain any meat or meat products, fish, poultry or products with lard or gelatine.
- Suitable for guests who do not eat flesh of any kind but can eat milk and cheese products.

Low-calorie Mealwith code LCML:
- Contains food with plenty of roughage and with less fats and carbohydrates.
- Does not contain sugar, cream, sauces, mayonnaise or fatty meats.
- Suitable for guests on restricted or low-calorie diets

Low Fat / Low Cholesterol Mealwith code LFML: Contains margarine, cottage cheese, egg white, boiled rice, potatoes, lean meats, fish, wholegrain bread, cereals and fruit.

Low Sodium Mealwith code LSML: Does not contain salt, MSG and baking soda/powder.

Raw Vegetable Meal with code RVML: Contains mainly raw vegetables and salads.

Non-lactose Meal with code NLML:
- Contains salads, roughage, pasta, rice, fish or meat.
- Does not contain milk and milk products, sauces, soft rolls, croissants or chocolate.
- Suitable for guests who are allergic or intolerant to milk or milk products or guests who have low lactose levels in their bodies.

Seafood Meal with code SFML:
- Contains all types of fish or shellfish.
- Does not contain meat products.
- Does not apply to breakfast.
- Suitable for guests who prefer seafood.

Vegetarian Oriental Meal with code VOML:
- Contains fruits and vegetables.
- Does not contain meat, fish, eggs or dairy products.

To avoid crowds at the airport, you should check in your baggage, and receive your boarding pass in advance of your flight time at one of the city check-in facilities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain.
