What is MH Airways responsibility when my baggage is damaged in flights?
Mishandled baggage
If a part of checked luggage is damaged, please report it to a Malaysia Airlines representative as soon as possible, before you leave the airport. The airline will examine the damage to baggage, and will often be able to resolve claims on the spot. Claims should be made at the Malaysia Airlines Baggage Service office. Otherwise, you need to lodge a report within 7 days upon arrival at your destination or up to a maximum of 21 days for insurance claims.
A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) will not be accepted if the bag has been checked in with a Limited Release Tag indicating previous damage to the bag. Please pack your bags carefully to avoid unwanted damage.
Malaysia Airlines does not accept claims for damage due to missing or damaged straps, scratches, nicks, wheels, locks, zipper damage, scuffs, dents, soiling, feet, clips or exterior tube handles, or manufacturer's defects.

We also offer bassinets on board all of our aircraft, measuring approximately 29.5 inches (74.93cm) long by 13 inches (33.02cm) wide by 6.5 inches (16.51cm) deep. There is a weight limit of 11 kgs. In the First Class suites a custom bassinet is fitted those measures 25 inches (63.5cm) long and 11 inches (28cm) wide. We provide bassinets on a first come, first served basis and you will need to contact Reservations to book these. If your baby weighs more than 11kg or is too long for our bassinet, the cabin crew will not be able to provide them.
For the safety of our youngest passengers, certain rules apply to infants travelling with Emirates.
An infant held in the lap of an adult passenger throughout the flight should be restrained where possible, but adult seat belts must not be fastened around both adult and infant. Seat belt extensions carried on board all Emirates aircraft should be used instead.
Child restraint devices (CRDs) approved for use in aircraft only by any Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or Transport Canada may be used, if marked accordingly.
Parents or guardians may use infant car seats at any stage of the flight, including take-off and landing. The car seat must be the forward facing type only and one that can be secured to the seat by the use of the lap seatbelt, and not a shoulder harness (2-point seatbelt) as for car vehicles. Airport Services will approve the infant car seat at check-in for use on board. Cabin crew will assist parents with the fitting of the car seat to the passenger seat. A seat must be booked and child's fare paid for infants travelling in this manner.
