For self-checked-in passengers holding mobile boarding pass or self-printed boarding pass will have their boarding pass scanned at Passenger Reconciliation System at the airport. However, if your boarding pass indicates that you need a travel visa or credit card verification check, you should first proceed to the “Self Checked-in” counter at the airport for verification. The time to use Passenger Reconciliation System is from 12 hours and up to 20 minutes of departure time of your flight.

Fragile or perishable items, money, jewelry, precious metal, silverware, negotiable papers, securities or other valuables, business documents, prototypes, paintings... etc., should not be put in checked baggage.
+ Can I purchase a seat in the cabin for my baggage in EVA Airlines flights?

Special baggage

Yes, if your baggage is allowed to transport by the airline. You can buy a seat for bulky, fragile items and/or musical instruments etc. into the cabin with you if you require additional seats reserved and paid for in advance. The baggage is restricted to a maximum of 70 kg (154 lb) per seat. There are also restrictions on dimension. Please contact EVA Air for more details.
+ What to do in case of baggage delayed, lost or damaged by EVA Airways?

In case you know that your baggage has been delayed, stolen, lost and damaged as soon as, please contact at once the EVA Air Baggage Service Office for supporting the service. Claimed deadline for delayed, stolen, lost and missing item(s) must be summited within 21 days and Claimed deadline for damaged baggage must be submitted within 7 days. Compensation for reasonable expenses will depend on acceptable proof of claim every case. The airline will inform you at the time of acceptable proof of claim.

Liability for Checked Baggage:
Liability for checked baggage is limited along with the relevant convention governing international air travel if a higher value has not been declared at first and excess value charges have been paid. The relevant convention is subject to the provisions of the applicable Warsaw Convention or Montreal Convention, and the general carriage conditions and terms of EVA AIR.

Liability for Unchecked Baggage:
Unchecked (Carry-on) baggage includes items/goods that you carry into the plane cabin and keep under your custody in the flight. EVA Air is not liable for any loss or damage to carry-on (unchecked) baggage unless loss or damage is caused by negligence of the airline. Under such a condition, EVA's liability is limited along with the relevant convention governing international air travel. The relevant convention is subject to the provisions of the applicable Warsaw Convention or Montreal Convention, and the general carriage conditions and terms of EVA AIR.

EVA Air is not liable for any loss, delay or damage in delivery of perishable property and baggage with inadequate packing, nor for damage or damage caused by liquids, fragile articles, or perishables. EVA Air’s liability may be limited for the loss, damage, or delay in delivery of medicines, money, jewelry ,orthotics (medical support devices),business/personal documents, silverware, negotiable papers, securities, spirits, books/manuscripts, optics, keys, publications, blueprints, paintings/works of arts, sound reproduction equipment, business samples, artistic items, irreplaceable items, photographs, business equipment, natural fur products, antiques, heirlooms, collectibles, artifacts, precious metals/stones, photographic/audio/video equipment and related items, computer hardware/software or electronic components/equipment.
+ What is the free EVA Air checked baggage allowance?

Checked baggage

The free checked baggage allowance depends on the airport and the destination. The general regulation for free checked baggage allowance as follows:

- For Business, Premium Laurel or Royal Laurel class, maximum weight is 30 kg (66 lb). The maximum dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158cm (62 in).
- For Elite class, maximum weight is 25kg (55lb). The sum of the three dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158cm (62in).
- For Economy class, maximum weight is 20 kg (44lb). The total dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158cm (62in).
- For Infant (All classes) not entitled to a seat, maximum weight is 10kg (22lb). The sum of the three dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158cm (62in).

The regulation for free checked baggage allowance (To/From the US and Canada and certain countries in South and Central America.):

- For Business, Premium Laurel or Royal Laurel class, free checked baggage allowance are 2 pieces with maximum weight 32kg (70lb) each baggage. The total dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158cm (62in).
- For Elite class, free checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces with maximum weight28 kg (62lb) each baggage. The dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158cm (62in).
- For Economy class, free checked baggage allowance are 2 pieces with maximum weight23 kg (50 lb) each baggage. The maximum dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158 cm (62 in).
- For Infant (All classes) not entitled to a seat, free checked baggage allowance is 1 piece with same weight of baggage allowance in an adult traveling class.
+ What is the free EVA Air hand baggage allowance?

Hand baggage

For Royal Laurel, Premium Laurel or Business Class, free Carry-on baggage allowance is two pieces of carry-on baggage and each piece cannot exceed 7 kg (15 lb). For Elite, Economy Class, free Carry-on baggage allowance is one piece of carry-on baggage with maximum weight 7 kg (15lb). The dimension of each carry-on baggage may not be larger than 23 x 36 x 56 cm (9 x 14 x 22) in or total of 115 cm/45 in (personal item is not applied to this regulation).

If the Carry-on baggage allowance exceeds weight or size, it will be checked and carried in the cargo hold or refused carriage.
+ How will EVA handle for valuable baggage?

Special baggage

If your valuable baggage exceeds normal liability limits of the airline, you are possible to declare the value baggage and pay applicable charges of that baggage. You will be often charged US $0.5 for each US $100 declared. EVA Air will not accept a higher declaration than US $2,500 from any one passenger.

Baggage including perishable or fragile items, jewelry, money, silverware, precious metal, negotiable papers, securities, business documents or other valuables, or prototypes will not be accepted for an excess value baggage’s declaration. If any interline carriage is involved, EVA Air will refuse your declaration.
