Jet Airways provides passengers with service of transporting pets as accompanied (checked) baggage in the cargo hold of the aircraft in a pet container. The container has to obey the regulations of the airline. Please contact any Jet Airways reservations and ticketing office when you want to request the service.
+ How to have my pets transported as cargo on aircraft of 9W?

If passengers want their pets to be transported as cargo, they should contact the Cargo office of Jet Airways to book. Both accompanied and unaccompanied pets will be transported in the cargo of the airplane.
+ What are policies of 9W Airways with respect to carriage of animals?

- Jet Airways agrees to transport pets (dogs, cats, birds) on domestic Indian flights (except flights on ATR).
- On international flights (except for flights to/from UK), only pets as dogs and cats are accepted.
- The airline will not agree to transport female pets with suckling young and un-weaned puppies/ kittens.
- Pets as weaned puppies or kittens younger than 8 weeks are not accepted by 9W.
- Animals are having pregnancy are not accepted.
- Passengers have to request the service at least 24 hours for accompanied baggage on domestic flights, or 72 hours on international flights before departure.
- The airline only transports live animals in the cargo hold.
- Each passenger is allowed to carry 03 live animals as accompanied baggage.
- 9W is not responsible for any injury or death of the animal.
- Dogs and cats are accepted if they are at least 8 weeks old on flights within India, or at least 4 months old on international flights.
+ Which types of breed of pets are not accepted on 9W flights?

Jet Airways does not accept the following breed of pets for some safety reasons such as risk of heat stroke, breathing difficulties, or increased stress. All snub-nosed dog breeds and their cross-breeds are: Boxers, Bulldogs, Mastiffs, Spaniels, Terriers, Akita, Brussels Griffin, Chow Chow, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brazillero & their crosses, Japanese Chin (Chin, Japanese Spaniel, and Japanese Pug), Lhasa Apso, Pekinese, Pit Bull, Pugs, Rottweiler, Shar Pei, Shih Tzu, Tosa. Some cat breeds and their cross-breeds not accepted are Burmese, Exotic, Himalayan, and Persian.

Requirements of animal containers are regulated to meet the comfort of animals, safety, and security during flights. The container should be utilized for carrying animals. However, the design and construction should meet the regulations of IATA. It must ensure that, animals can sit, stand and turn around comfortably in that container.
+ Will Jet Airway provide water and food for my pets during flights?

No. Food and water for animals are prepared by passengers. Container of pet must have bowls for food and water. On long-haul flights, passengers have to prepare food for pets. Passengers can request staff of the airline to feed pets when needed.
+ In what cases are pet containers not accepted on aircrafts of 9W Airways?

Pet containers will not be accepted if:
- The container is not sufficiently sturdy or in poor condition, as animals can escapes easily.
- The container is unclean.
- The animal appears diseased.
- The animal is excessively ferocious.
- The container may cause injury or suffering to the animal
- The container does not meet the regulations of IATA

Documentation for live animal import into India includes:
- Import permit
- Vaccination records
- Government Health certificate
- India protocol
- Fitness certificate from a veterinarian
