Can I bring animal products or products of animal origin (EU destination only) on flights of AA Airlines?

Such products as meat, cheese, sausages, and lard are not allowed to transport into the EU due to restrictions set by the European Union (EU). Passengers should check ahead of time to make sure to comply with these restrictions.

Can I bring batteries on flights of American Airlines?

Passengers can bring batteries of 9 volts, AA/AAA/C/D, Alkaline, Carbon zinc, Silver oxide, Zinc air, Lithium or lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium, or nickel-metal hydride. Passengers can bring spare lithium, lithium-ion batteries for devices such as laptop, cell phones, and camera as hand baggage, not checked baggage. The airline will not transport damage batteries, batteries for automobiles, boats or aircrafts.

Can I bring ice on aircraft of AA Airways?

There are two types of ice: wet ice and dry ice. American Airlines just accepts to carry dry ice for packing perishable items.Passengers can bring up to 5.5lb/2.5kg as hand baggage if:
- Dry ice is packed in a vented, hard plastic or heavy gauge styrofoam container
- Passengers tell a ticket or gate agent

Is it ok if I travel with e-wheelchairs with spillar batteries?
Baggage restrictions
No. Electric wheelchairs with spillar batteries are not allowed on board. Yet, for some exceptions, the mobility device can be transported if:
- E-wheelchairs are transported according to guidelines of the airline
- Passengers have advanced notice in transatlantic flights

Does American Air Lines allow me to bring self-inflating life jackets on board?

Passengers can bring self-inflating life jackets in checked baggage. These life jackets have no more than two CO2 cartridges for inflation purposes.

What happens if my special baggage excesses the allowed size and weight of AA?

If your baggage as equipment is larger than 126in/320cm and 100lb/45kg, you have to contact a freight forwarder to transport the baggage.

Passengers are allowed to bring audio or visual equipment as cameras, film, lighting, sound equipment and other baggage if they are eligible travelers or they are authorized by Entertainment and Media companies. They will be offered a special rate and generous baggage allowance:
- Eligible travelers will pay 50USD/piece/one-way domestic trip.
- Eligible travelers will pay 70USD/piece/one-way international trip.
- Fee for overweight and oversize baggage will be granted if baggage may not weigh more than 100lb/45kg and bigger than 126in/320cm in total dimensions with the maximum length of 75in/190cm.

Does American Airline allow me to bring human remains on board?
Special baggage
Yes. Passengers can bring cremated remains as hand baggage on board. In domestic flights, passengers do not have to show off special documentation. In international flights, passengers have to contact a local consulate or burial advisor before departure.
The containers of crematory such as urns may not be screened at the security checkpoint of TSA. Therefore, passengers have to make sure that container will be able to pass through TSA checkpoints. Also, TSA can check to determine if cremated containers can pass through checked point or need to be checked.
