- Reservations are confirmed in the appropriate class of service
- All fare restrictions are accepted
- The lower fare is not a special Delta fare
- Any applicable penalties are retroactive to the new airfare.

To submit a lower fare claim, passengers need to provide the following information by filling in a Best Fare Guarantee Claim:

- Name of passenger
- SkyMiles number (if any)
- Passenger’s confirmaton number for current flight
- Departure date
- Flight numbers
- Origination and destination
- Passenger’s email address
- Competing total fare amount (including all taxes and fees)
- Web address of the site advertising the lower fare
