Oktoberfest Beer Festival is one of the world’s largest celebrations held annually. The festival is derived from the city of Munich, Bavaria, Germany with 204 years of history. This festival generally lasts 16 days from late September to the first week of October with the participation of over 6 million people worldwide. For many years, Oktoberfest has become the largest festival in Hanoi in particular and in Vietnam in general. The festival is also held in many Asian countries.
The organizing committee has said that visiting the festival, tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy vibrant festive atmosphere that is the unique feature of German culture in an open and lively space. The Oktoberfest in Hanoi will be imbued with German characteristics from outfits and service style to fresh beers and delicious specialties of Germany. Notably, in this year festival, the organizing committee will newly introduce Vietnamese diners a famous beer produced in handicraft way in Southern Germany. In addition, visitors will not help dancing in the beat of Bavarian folk dance performed by a popular band from Germany. Diners may also participate in different funny games. The festival is to popularize German culture as well as German food in Hanoi.
At the press conference on July 2nd in Hanoi, Mr. Sascha Kirchner, a member of German Business Association in Vietnam which is also the initiator for Oktoberfest in Hanoi stated that he was proud to bring the largest German cultural festival to Hanoi. In collaboration with Marriott Hotel, he was confident that this year festival would be developed into a new higher class and leave a deep impression on participants. According to Mr. Goeran Soelter, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Marriott Hotel has confidently said that with an area of 1600 square meters, the hotel is able to serve up to 1000 guests per night and this will be the largest Oktoberfest Festival so far. JW Marriott Hanoi along with German Business Association in Vietnam will recreate this event in a possible integrity. The hotel is also in full preparation to serve famous traditional fresh German beer as well as German dishes such as Bratwurst sausages, Pretzel bread mixed with sausages, salted sauerkraut, and so many other dishes.
The entrance ticket will begin to be sold in early July at 3 main locations: JW Marriott Hotel, the office of German Business Association in Vietnam, the representative office of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (GIC/AHK Vietnam). The ticket costs 1,100,000 VND per person and 1 million VND per one for members of Germany Business Association.
