Vietnamese Cuisine Festival 2014 soon in Nha Trang

At the press conference, it is officially announced that in addition to the opening and closing ceremony, Vietnamese Cuisine Festival 2014 has 8 official activities taking place from July 8th to 13th.

The festival aims to introduce, promote and honor exquisites of Vietnamese cuisine and creative talents of Vietnamese in processing traditional food. 8 aforementioned activities include: competition of 3 regions’ cuisine in Vietnam, culinary market in the past and nowadays, “typical cuisine” program, program named “reunion of 3 regions’ specialties”, baking contest, program of lighting flower street, beer festival, and shopping festival.

This is the first time Vietnamese cuisine festival to be held in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province. The highlight of this year festival is the competition of 3 regions’ cuisine in Vietnam which gathers nearly 100 professional chefs who are working in luxury hotels throughout the country. The competition will be the arena for super chefs knowledgeable about Vietnamese cuisine and culture. Culinary market in the past and nowadays with the theme of “Vietnamese flavor” will recreate rural markets with stalls of fruits, and rustic foods. However, the market will also display modern stalls with fast foods, fresh products of famous brands. In particular, program of “reunion of 3 regions’ specialties” will be hold like an exhibition of well-known traditional Vietnamese food such as: Cha ca La Vong (La Vong fried fish), bun moc (Vietnamese pork and mushroom noodle soup), thit dong (frozen meat), banh dau xanh (green bean cake of the North), bun bo Hue (Hue style beef vermicelli), bun ca dam Nha Trang (Nha Trang style fish vermicelli), Quang noodle, Tam Ky chicken rice, banh canh gio heo (soup cake with pork hork), hu tieu Sa Dec (Vietnamese pork noodle soup), banh xeo (rice pancake), and many other delicious specialties of the Central Highlands and Northwestern Highlands. At present, there are approximately 450 booths of enterprises and agencies in Vietnam and Laos enrolling, including 150 booths in areas of culinary market, 80 booths in areas of regional specialties, 100 booths in areas of arts and crafts, and 150 booths in commercial areas.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Truc, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Vietnamese Cuisine Festival is among the most culinary festivals in Vietnam and also a new tourism product to welcome tourists to Nha Trang Khanh Hoa in 2014 summer. It is also an opportunity to promote tourism, boost trade between enterprises, agencies and individuals interested in cuisine. Vietnamese Cuisine Festival 2014 is held by Expo Services and Logistics JSC based in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province.
