Activities in 60th Anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day

There are so many special activities to be held on occasion of 60th Anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day. Particularly, in the night of October 10th, there will be fireworks at 30 locations throughout the city.

In 2014, Hanoi has been chosen as the core place to hold a series of events celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day. With a careful preparation, the program will bring visitors impressive special performances praising Capital Hanoi and Vietnam in combat, construction and development processes. It is considered as the largest festivals in Hanoi in 2014.

 

Dragon Performance welcomes Anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day

 

Under the plan, cultural and art activities celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day will take place from October 2nd to 12th. Specifically, on October 2nd, the final of Hanoi Vocal was held at Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace; on October 4th was Dragon Dance Festival in Hanoi at Ly Thai To Statue Square; Street Festival will take place on October 10th at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square on Dinh Tien Hoang Street. In the night of October 10th 2014, a videoconference themed “Hanoi – Faith and Hope” will be held at 4 points: Vietnam Television Studio, August Revolution Square, Temple of Literature and Ly Thai To Flower Garden; Peace Culture Festival will be held on October 12th 2014 at Hanoi Reunification Park. Especially, a fireworks display will be held at 30 districts and town throughout the city in the evening of October 10th 2014.

Besides main activities, many art programs will be held at stages set up at cultural centers, towns, and even residential areas where local people have few opportunities to access to cultural arts. The play named “Seven legendary rights” will be performed in the evening of October 10th 2014 at the center of Ba Vi District; on October 9th at the central stage in Ba Dinh District is a dance music show themed Vietnam – the country of spring; on the same day at the cultural center of Long Bien District is a music program of folk singing; and on October 10th is a music of Quan ho Bac Ninh (a traditional art form of Vietnamese culture in which men and women take turns singing in a challenge-and-response fashion drawing on a known repertoire of melodies).

 

National flags hung in 60th Anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day

 

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day, many sideline activities have taken place since early this month. On October 1st, the opening ceremony of Imperial Citadel of Thang Long” photo exhibition displaying artifacts newly found there was formally held. The exhibition showcased 150 artifacts dating back to Vietnamese ancient dynasties thousand years ago. A conference themed “Preserving and developing values of Hanoi Westlake – a national heritage” was also held on October 2nd as well.
