A year of looking back, Vietnam tourism has experienced many challenges after many political and economic issues which affected the number of tourists to Vietnam in general and famous Vietnam destinations. As a consequence, some key markets of Vietnam tourism had low growth rate. The total number of visitors in 2014 reached 7.87 million, increasing 4% in comparison to that in 2013 and much lower than that in 2013 (10.6%). For example, enterprises in Vietnam invest in developing products with unique features and differences. At the same time, staff has expertise and high sense of responsibility, ensures the provision of services to international standards and stability, and actively participates in activities to promote tourism in these markets. However, the statistics shows that the number of tourists from Vietnam to ASEAN countries is about 2.5 million, while the number of tourists from ASEAN countries to Vietnam is only about 1 million. At the same time, the proportion of tourists returning to Vietnam is lower than that of those returning Thailand, and Cambodia. It is believed that there were both objective and subjective reasons.
In addition, Vietnam travel agents lack the quality of staff. Firms competed excessively, leading to lower prices, reduce service quality, and create a negative image in the international friends. Thus, in 2015, the problem will be better and improved a lots. Vietnam government will invest more in promulgating Vietnam tourism. Famous tourist destinations in Vietnam such as World Heritages in Vietnam will fascinate more tourists to develop tourism in Vietnam by 2015. Besides, unique products and specialties are created to appeal tourists to resorts, spiritual tourism, and island travel… Especially, enterprises operating in the fields of tourism will cooperate with each other to attract more tourists with high quality reaching international standards to bring the best services to customers and promulgate the image of Vietnam tourism in the eyes of international friends.
