On October 26 morning, General Consulate of Japan in Ho Chi Minh coordinated with Youth Culture House in Ho Chi Minh City to organize Vietnam Japan Day 2014. The event consists of many activities such as watching movies, performances, dance, martial arts, outdoor food culture and tourism of Japan introduction, study abroad and jobs for students studying in Japan... These activities contribute to strengthening ties of friendship, trust, and long-term cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. On the first day, an arranged exhibition "Identify and Connect" by Dang Thi Khue painter has been open at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. The exhibition features seven works of art installation, in which highlighted works as: "Mother" suggesting image of the mothers who gives life; "Music nostalgia" recalling " Ca Tru Vietnam" - a traditional performing style; "Âm hưởng đại ngàn" (Sonority of Jungle) reflecting emotions of the Highlands. This is the result of dedication, hard work and creation for a long period of the painter. The exhibition will end on November 4th.
Mr. Nakajima Satoshi - General Consulate of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City said, event of Vietnam Japan Day 2014 is an opportunity for young people of Vietnam and Japan to exchange, learn and experience. It helps Vietnamese people understand more about Japanese traditional culture, life and people. In recent years, the number of Vietnam tourists to visit and explore Japan continuously increases each year. As of September 2014, the number reached 20,000 visitors, an increase of 50% compared to the same period. It shows that the Vietnam Japan relation becomes more intimate. This is an annual event organized by the General Consulate of Japan in HCMC, HCMC Youth Cultural House and Japan Tourism of Department.
With the theme "Feel Japan", the festival has attracted a large attendance of young people, students, and middle aged class. Young people have been experiencing many unique and fascinating cultural activities of Japan through programs such as Origami (art of paper folding), Yukata (dressing traditional costume), Shibuya and Harajuku fashion, Japanese tea ceremony, Japanese writing ceremony, Japanese cuisine, and Japanese tourism information... In particular, the festive day also includes Ninja performances by Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura Ninja from Japan and programs for audiences to camouflage as Ninja. The Vietnam youth has the opportunity to explore and experience unique performing art of the Japanese Ninja. Besides, the exchange activities attract people in Ho Chi Minh City to participate in as Japanese singing contest, experience Japanese on traditional costumes, Karate martial arts demonstrations, and Vietnam Japan culinary exchanges...
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Chairman of Vietnam tourism Association said that Vietnam - Japan Day is an important event of the year, demonstrating good relationship between two countries Vietnam and Japan for over 40 years. Japan and Vietnam tourism industry is making efforts to increase the number of tourists from Japan to Vietnam and vice versa. The program is extremely significant to both countries Vietnam and Japan. This manifests close ties, solidarity and friendship between the two peoples, and contributes to economic and tourist development. In particular, the cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries have made culture of each country increasingly rich, pure and closer to each other.
