AgroViet 2014 attracts over 400 booths

International Agriculture Expo 14th, aka AgroViet 2014 was kicked off on November 14 with the participation of many Vietnamese businesses. The expo is one of the most important event of Vietnam agriculture held annually to promulgate Vietnam products.

International Agriculture Expo 14th - AgroViet 2014 was officially opened on 14/11 in Hanoi. This is the annual largest trade promotion event of Vietnam agriculture. The fair will take place until the end of the day November 17, 2014 at the Agricultural Trade Fair and Exhibition Centre, 489 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay District, (Hanoi). This is a major trade promotion event of the agricultural sector in Vietnam in 2014. With the theme "Vietnam agriculture towards high value-added and sustainable development", AgroViet 2014 is the major trade promotion event in 2014 organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development annually. The purpose of this event is to develop comprehensively agriculture in the direction of modern, efficient and sustainable strategy for socio-economic development in the phase 2011 - 2020, and to implement restructuring the agricultural sector approved by the Prime Minister in 2013.

Products from Southern provinces

This is also the opportunity to promote and improve the image of Agriculture in Vietnam in domestic and international markets. It also creates favorable conditions for domestic and foreign units to introduce, promote, and expand markets of consuming Vietnam agricultural products, and products of forestry, fisheries with high quality, reputable business, supplies and equipment for agricultural production and achievements of science and technology in agriculture. At the same time, the fair is a place for businesses, producers, businessmen, scientists, and farmers to exchange, learn, and share experiences in agricultural production. This fair attracts over 400 booths from more than 200 both domestic and international companies, manufacturers and organizations, including businesses from Japan, India, China, Republic of South Africa. There are also organizations, individuals and units in the country coming from departments, institutes, research centers, trade promotion centers, and extension centers of provinces and cities; associations, farms, cooperatives and businesses in and outside the agricultural and rural sectors.

In the fair, businesses introduce products of agriculture, forestry, seafood, arts and crafts, food, crop varieties, and livestock. There are diverse agricultural supplies, equipment and machinery with typical products of three regions. In the north, they are Bao Minh rice, Thai Nguyen tea, and San Nam dried fruits. And, there are special fruits of 3 regions as seedless guava, Vinh orange, green grapefruit, and pomelo. Alos, seafood, Phan Thiet fish sauce, Lam Thao and Phu My fertilizer, modern machinery lines of companies as Jama, Kanto, Sasaki (Japan), Chongqing, Changsha (China), and Buhler Farmila (Vietnam) are also displayed here. In addition, along the expo, there are many interesting and typical activities related to farmers and delegations attending the fair. Having a speech at the opening ceremony of this fair, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hoang Van Thang said, agricultural production in Vietnam is still facing many challenges. Developing the market has been always the most important task to promote agriculture to overcome difficulties and continue to grow. In this context, the implementation of trade promotion activities in general and AgroViet in particular has important implications associated with development oriented towards agriculture development to value added and sustainable development.

Products in AgroViet 2014

"Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development believes that the diverse activities at Expo AgroViet 2014 are really a great opportunity for businesses who manufacture, research exchange and learn experiences, access to science, technology, and enhance the competitiveness of products and goods. It is a bridge between production and consumption, promoting Vietnam agriculture, forestry and fisheries in domestic market, and strengthens trade relations with partners from countries around the world", Deputy Minister Hoang Van Thang stressed. The fair is divided into outdoor and indoor areas. The outdoor area is for displaying, introducing of products and transactions of Agriculture and Rural Development Department, zones of crop varieties, livestock, supplies, machinery and equipment; displays of agricultural, forestry and fisheries, and food... In the wide indoor area of 200m2, it is the introduction of agricultural achievements in recent years and targets in the future, science and technology in agricultural production, and exhibition area of safe vegetables, etc.
