RV Lan Diep Cruise

Day 1 – Phnom Penh – Koh Chen/ Oudong

Passengers will get on board at Phnom Penh Port, and then enjoy a lavish lunch while the ship cruises to Koh Chen (Chinese Island). When arriving Koh Chen, you will pop in a small village where villagers specialize in silver and copper smiting. You will be lured into beautiful decorative items, along with sophisticatedly engraved tropical fruit which are used in many traditional events of local people. After that, you will visit distant hills of Oudong, the ancient capital of Cambodia. Then, you will return to the cruise and depart for Kampong Tralach. In the evening, you will stay overnight on the river on the way to Kampong Tralach.

Day 2 – Kampong Tralach – Kampong Chhnnang

In the morning, after enjoying hearty breakfast, the ship reaches Kampong Tralach and passengers visit its wonderful Vihara. Before that, you will pop in Kampong Tralach Krom Village and wander along small road vertical to the river. Here, you have a chance to admire immense rice paddies. Later, you will come back to the vessel and enjoy tasty lunch while the ship cruises to Kampong Chhnnang. Kampong Chhnnang is one of the largest fishing port on the Tonle Sap. It is well-known for fishing farm and pottery ware. Passengers also have the opportunity to enjoy some its specialties as Thnot tree – a mellow tasting, caramel – colored sugar sold in large cakes and palm wine. Then, passengers will come back to the cruise to depart for Tonle Sap Lake. You will stay on board and overnight at the entrance of the great lake.

Day 3 - Chnok Tru – Siem Reap

The itinerary of the third day will be varied based on the water level of Mekong River.

High water (July – December)

In the morning, after having breakfast, you will be taken to Siem Reap and contemplate the magnificent Angkor Wat. You will visit Chnok Trou by local boats. Here, you will drop by local school, ice factory, churches, pagodas, and shops… all of them are located on a floating village. At noon, you will come back to the ship and have lunch while the cruise departs for passing Tonle Sap to arrive Phnom Krom pier (~5 miles from Siem Reap).

Low water (Jan to June)

In the morning, after having breakfast, you will be taken to Siem Reap and contemplate the magnificent Angkor Wat. You will visit a floating village. Towards the end of March, it is impossible to visit the floating village. We visit local attractions such as a school, an ice factory, churches, pagodas, a pigsty, repair shops and a police station which are all floating on water. Then, you will come back to Lan Diep Cruise and have lunch on boar. After that, the cruise departs for passing the Tonle Sap. We arrive at Phnom Krom pier (~5 miles from Siem Reap). When arriving in Phnom Krom, you will take a tour to the city to reach FCC Hotel, the final point of your voyage.

Note: At the end of lower water period (from late March to June), it is impossible for speedboats to cross the lake. Thus, passengers will be transferred by another convenient transport from/to Siem Reap by land or river way (~5-6 hours)

Day 1 – Siem Reap – Chnok Tru

Passengers will be gathered in front of the FCC Hotel in Siem Reap to depart for Phnom Penh. The itinerary of the third day will be varied based on the water level of Mekong River.

High water (July – December)

Passengers will be transferred to Phnom Krom pier. Then, you travel by local boats to the Lan Diep Cruise. After getting on board, you will be served a delicious lunch, and the ship cruises to Tonle Sap Lake. On the way, you will arrive at Chnok Trou Floating Village and stay overnight onboard near the village.

Low water (Jan to June)

You will be served a lavish Khmer lunch at a local restaurant. Then, you will cross the Tonle Spa Lake by speedboat. You will arrive at the Chnok Trou Floating Village and take a tour to go trolling the village. From March to June, visits to the Floating village will depend on the water level. Then, the ship will cruise to Tonle Sap. The ship anchors for the night on the way to the great lake. At night, you can relax with dinks at bar, or listen to a briefing about the cruise, and have a chance to communicate with friendly crew of the cruise. During the lower water level, speedboats may not allowed to cross the lake. Thus, passengers will be transfer by riverboats or bay van to/from Siem Reap (5-6 hours)

Day 2 - Kampong Chhnnang – Kampong Tralach

After having a hearty breakfast, you will travel by local boats to a floating village. You will visit local attractions in the village such as a school, an ice factory, churches, pagodas, a pigsty, repair shops and a police station – all of them are floating on water. Later, you will return to the Lan Diep Cruise and enjoy a sumptuous lunch, while the ship cruises to Kampong Chhnnang. When arriving at Kampong Chhnnang. Here is one of the largest fishing port on Tonle Sap Lake. The fishing port is famous for fishing farm and pottery ware. Passengers also have the opportunity to enjoy some its specialties as Thnot tree – a mellow tasting, caramel – colored sugar sold in large cakes and palm wine. Then, you return to the ship and cruise to Kampong Tralach. In the evening, the ship will anchor near the village for overnight.

Day 3 - Kampong Tralach – Koh Chen / Oudong – Phnom Penh

After having breakfast, you will depart for Kampong Tralach to visit Vihara. At noon, you will enjoy a lavish lunch while the ship cruises to Koh Chen (Chinese Island). Day 1 – Saigon – My Tho

In the early morning, you will embark at the International Port of Saigon. After having breakfast, you will complete the customs formalities and depart for My Tho. During the morning time on board, you will have a great chance to admire the city along the Saigon River while having lunch, and cruising to the splendid channel of Cho Gao. In the afternoon, you arrive My Tho. Here, the cruise will drops near Thoi Son Island. The local boats will take you to onshore. It is the time for you to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda by bus. Then, you have time to visit the city, a local market in My Tho and a local zoo. After that, you come back to the cruise to sail to Thoi Son Island. When reaching the island, you will visit candy factory, go shopping local products. (The visit of My Tho is depend of the level of the traffic on the channel of Cho Gao which can cause considerably delay (+ 2 hours) the arrival to My Tho). In the late afternoon, you will come back to the cruise and have dinner, while the ship anchors in Vinh Long for overnight.

Day 2 – Vinh Long – Cai Be – Sa Dec

In the morning, the Lan Diep Cruise sets sail to Cai Be. When approaching Cai Be, there are local boats picking you up from the cruise to Cai Be Floating Market, to discover the brick manufacturers and pottery. Also, you will visit Binh Hoa Phuoc, the seedbed of fruit trees while passing by and popping on a traditional house of a local farmer. At noon, you come back to the cruise, have lunch and depart for Sa Dec. In the afternoon, the ship reaches Sa Dec. here, you will take a tour in the city. You will drop by Trung Vuong Primary School and Kien An Cung Pagoda. Also, you will have a chance to visit the House of the Chinese (of The Lover – a novel of Marguerite Duras). In the late afternoon, you come back to the ship after visiting a seedbed of bonsai. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner an overnight on board.

Day 3 – Chau Doc – Koh Dek Chau

Before dawn, the ship sails to Chau Doc. When reaching here, you will have breakfast in the restaurant of Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. Then, you will take part in a Chau Doc tour. Local boats will take you to a village of Cham ethnic minority and a fish farm. Then, you pop in a local market. Later, you will stop over in the hill of Harmed Sam. You will “climbs up” to 237 m and offers its famous Buddhist sanctuaries with an unspoiled view of the rice plantations. On the way, you will visit the temple of Chua Xu and Tay An Pagoda. At noon, you come back to the cruise and have lunch on board, while the vessel cruises to Vinh Xuyen, Vietnamese border. In the afternoon, after finishing the customs formalities, the ship cruises towards Phnom Penh. In the evening, the Lan Diep Cruise moors near Koh Dek Chau for overnight.

Day 4 – Koh Dek Chau – Phnom Penh

In the early morning, the cruise departs for Phnom Penh, while you will be served breakfast. Then, you prepare your luggage and take some rest on board. The Lan Diep arrives at Phnom Penh, completes custom formalities. Your tour ends.

In the early morning, you will leave Phnom Penh pier to depart for Chau Doc. In the morning time, you will relax on board and contemplate the stunning view of Mekong River Delta. At noon, you will have lunch, while the cruise sails leisurely along Mekong River to Koh Dek Chau. In the afternoon, the ship sails to Vinh Xuyen, the Vietnamese border to complete customs formalities. Then, it cruises to Chau Doc. It will moors in near Chau Doc for overnight.

Day 2 – Chau Doc – Sa Dec

The ship departs for Saigon from My Tho. The way back to Saigon is fast or slow, which depends on the level of the traffic on the channel of Cho Gao which can cause considerably delay (+ 2 hours) the arrival to Saigon. You will disembark and ends your tour at International Saigon Port.

Day 1 – Saigon – My Tho

The Lan Diep is ready for you at Saigon Port to depart for My Tho. While getting on board and enjoy a sumptuous lunch as the ship cruises to My Tho. During the time cruising along the river, you stay on board and contemplate the wonderful view of the Mekong River. In the evening, you will enjoy a sumptuous dinner as local musicians play traditional Khmer tunes on board. The ship moors overnight.

Day 2 – My Tho – Cai Be

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast on board, you will visit to the mainland of My Tho by local boats which are sent to the Lan Diep Cruise to pick you up. On the mainland, you will visit Vinh Trang Pagoda by car, and then take a short tour to My Tho Town. The town is famous for untouched beauty of landscapes, myriad fruit orchards, gardens and vast rice fields. The local climate is warm and pleasant all year round. The surrounding countryside is home to coconut palms, banana, mango trees, and many tropical fruits. Later, you return to the pier to cruise to Thoi Son Island. In this island, you will have a chance to discover the local life and enjoy fresh fruit. Lately, you come back to the ship and stay overnight on board.

Day 3 – Cai Be  – Vinh Long – Sa Dec

After having leisurely breakfast, local boats are sent to the cruise to pick you up for visiting Cai Be Floating Market. You will continue cruising and pop in Vinh Long - a brick and pottery factory and the Binh Hoa Phuoc Islet. Here, you will drop by a typical local showroom of traditional farming tools and visit other attractive places in Vinh Long. After that, you come back to the cruise and depart for Sa Dec, while a lovely lunch is served. In the afternoon, you will take a short tour in Sa Dec, visit Trung Vuong Primary School, and Kien An Cung Pagoda. Later, you will go strolling around Sa Dec Market. You then come back to the cruise, have dinner, and stay overnight on board.

Day 4 - Chau Doc

In the early morning, the cruise departs for Chau Doc. You will have breakfast during navigation. After lunch time, the cruise reaches Chau Doc. Local boats will take you to visit fist rafts and the Cham village, a minority ethnic group in the town. Chau Doc is a remote border town and cultural melting pot of Chinese, Cham and Khmer communities. It is situated at the intersection of a tributary linking the Bassac and the Mekong River. Here, you will take on a short panoramic tour of the city with vivid and vibrant landscape. This is the perfect opportunity to feel throbbing vibration of the local markets. You will return to the ship slightly after sunset before being served dinner on board. The vessel moors overnight.

Day 5 – Chau Doc – Border – Phnom Penh

In the early morning, the vessel cruises to Vinh Xuong (Vietnamese border) and passengers have breakfast on board. At the border, Lan Diep Cruise will dock for a while, and then cruises to Cambodia. After having lunch, you will relax on board with some activities served or retire in your cabin. Otherwise, you can unwind on the sundeck to contemplate the wonderful view of the river. In the late afternoon, you will be served a farewell cocktails with the Master of the ship and Cruise Manager. In the evening, you will savor a special designed captain’s farewell dinner.

Day 6 – Phnom Penh

After being served a hearty breakfast, you will be taken to visit Kampong Tralach. Here, you will pop in Wat Kampong Tralach Leu. Then, you return to the cruise to depart for Phnom Penh. When arriving Phnom Penh, you finish your checkout and bid adieu to the cruise’s team. Your tour ends.

In the morning, the cruise arrives at Koh Chen, a small village whose inhabitants specialize in silver and copper smiting. Here, you will be enticed by ornamental items, including delicately engraved tropical fruit which are used in traditional events of local people. After that, you will visit distant hills of Oudong, the ancient capital of Cambodia. Then, you return to the Lan Diep and cruise towards Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, while lunch is served onboard. Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, you are free to explore this vibrant city. Dinner is served on board and the Lan Diep 11 moors overnight.

Day 3 - Border – Chau Doc

In the morning, you have breakfast on board as the Lan Diep crosses the border to Chau Doc, a remote border town and cultural melting pot of Chinese, Cham and Khmer communities. The city is situated at the intersection of a tributary linking the Bassac and the Mekong River. You will be fascinated with a short panoramic tour of the city. This is a perfect opportunity to feel the throbbing vibration of the local markets. The ship then cruises towards Sa Dec and anchors near Sa Dec.

Day 4 - Sa Dec – Vinh Long

After having an energetic breakfast, you will depart for Sa Dec. you will cruise around Sa Dec by local boats and take a tour to Vinh Long. In Vinh Long, you will pop in a brick and pottery factory, the Binh Hoa Phuoc Islet, and orchards. Also, you have a chance to visit a typical local dwelling and a showroom of traditional farming tools. Then, you will go sightseeing around the area. Passengers re-embark the Lan Diep, and then cruise to My Tho. A delectable dinner is served during navigation. When, you arrive at My Tho, Lan Diep Cruise II moors for the night near Thoi Son Island.

Day 5 – Cai Be – My Tho

On the fifth day, you will cruise to the mainland of My Tho by local boat. In My Tho, you will visit famous places of the Mekong River Delta’s province. Here, you will visit myriad orchards, gardens, and immense rice fields. In addition, the local weather is favorable all year round. Specialties here are coconut palms and banana and mango trees. You will return the cruise and depart for Saigon. A sumptuous farewell dinner is served and the Lan Diep moors overnight.

Day 6 – My Tho – Saigon

The Lan Diep Cruise departs for Saigon. You will enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board before arriving at Saigon Port.

Day 1 – Saigon – My Tho

The Lan Diep is ready for you. The Lan Diep departs for My Tho. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and a briefing on the cruise.

Day 2 – My Tho – Cai Be – Vinh Long

The Lan Diep departs in the early morning. You will start your day with a lavish breakfast while the Lan Diep navigates to marvelous canal of Cho Gao. When arriving at My Tho, Lan Diep drops anchor close to the Thoi Son Island. Here, you will have the opportunity to discover a prosperous city of about 100,000 inhabitants, famous for its myriad fruit orchards, gardens and vast rice fields with favorable climatic condition. The countryside is home to one of the most luxuriant gardens of Vietnam with coconut palms and banana and mango trees.

Passengers re-embark Lan Diep then. The cruise ship leaves My Tho for Cai Be. A special lunch spread is served on board. The ship drops anchor at Cai Be. Local boats are sent to the Lan Diep to pick you up for a delightful cruise around Cai Be Floating Market. Later, the ship sails to Vinh Long. You will visit a typical local dwelling and a show room of traditional farming tools. You also have the opportunity to explore the local life. You return to the Lan Diep Cruise after visiting the town and depart for Sa Dec. When the ship arrives at Sa Dec, it drops anchor and serve a delectable dinner. You will stay overnight on board in Sa Dec.

Day 3 - Sa Dec – Chau Doc

Your new day begins with an opulent breakfast. Then, you will take a tour to Sa Dec and visit Trung Vung Primary School and Kien An Cung Pagoda. After that, it is time for you to go strolling in Sa Dec Market. At noon, you return to the ship and have lunch. In the afternoon, the ship takes you to Chau Doc. Here, you will visit Cham Village, a minority ethnic group of both Vietnam and Cambodia. If you have more time, you can enjoy some drink and contemplate the wonderful sunset on the Sam Mountain which is famous for Buddhist sanctuaries offering a magnificent view over the mosaic of glistening rice paddies below. Later, you come back to the cruise, have dinner and take a rest after a hard day of traveling.

Day 4 – Vinh Xuong Border – Phnom Penh

In the early morning, the ship will depart for Vinh Xuong Border. After having breakfast, you will spending the whole morning time on board while the vessel sails to the check-point and departs for Phnom Penh. You will stay overnight on board near Phnom Penh.

Day 5 – Phnom Penh

After having breakfast, you will prepare for a city tour in Phnom Penh. When the ship arrives in Phnom Penh, passengers will freely have a walking tour around the capital of Cambodia. You will drop by Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and Russian Market. At noon, you come back to the ship and have lunch. In the afternoon, you enjoy relaxing time on board. Otherwise, you can visit Toul Sleng – a torture center. In the late afternoon, you come back to the ship and have dinner while enjoying graceful dancers performing traditional Apsara dance. Day 6 – Phnom Penh – Koh Chen – Kampong Tralach

In the morning, from Phnom Penh the ship sails to Koh Chen, a peaceful and cozy village of making silver souvenir items. At noon, you will depart for Kampong Tralach while having lunch on board. In the afternoon, you will pop in spectacular Wat Kampong Tralach Leu at Kampong Tralach. You will return to the cruise and have dinner then.

Day 7 – Kampong Chhnnang – Chnok Trou

In the early morning, the Lan Diep cruises to Kampong Chhnang. In Kampong Chhnang, about 56 miles from Phnom Penh, you will have a chance to explore one of the largest fishing ports on the Tonlé Sap. Kampong Chhnang is famous for fish farming and pottery ware. Also, here is the home to products of the Thnot tree - a mellow tasting, caramel-colored sugar sold in large cakes and palm wine - that grows abundantly in the area.

Day 8 – Chnok Trou – Siem Reap

The Lan Diep departs early in the morning. It is time to pack your bags and chill as the ship cruises passing the Tonle Sap. The ship arrives at Phnom Krom pier (~5 miles from Siem Reap). Your tour ends.

Day 1 – Siem Reap

Day 2 – Chnok Trou – Kampong Chhnnang

After having a hearty breakfast on board, you will be taken to visit Chnok Trou and its floating village and many interesting things in here. After that, you come back to the cruise to depart for Kampong Chhnnang. In Kampong Chhnnang, you will have a chance to explore the tranquil province lined with sugar-palm trees and paddy fields which disappear into the horizon in delightful puffs of gold and green. Late, you come back to the ship and sail to Wat Kampong Tralach Leu at Kampong Tralach. Dinner will be served on board and passengers stay overnight on board near Kampong Tralach.

Day 3 – Kampong Tralach – Koh Chen – Phnom Penh

In the morning, after having breakfast, you will visit Wat Kampong Tralach Leu at Kampong Tralach. At noon, you come back to the ship and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will entertain by joining fascinating Apsara traditional dacing performance. Then, the cruise sails to Phnom Penh. Here, you will freely explore the capital of Cambodia.

Day 4 – Phnom Penh

After having breakfast, you go ashore to go strolling around the capital. You will drop by Royal Place, Silver Pagoda and Russian Market. You will return to the cruise and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will have free time to relax on board with various activities.

Day 5 - Kaam Samnar Border to Sa Dec

Lan Diep leaves at the break of dawn for the Kaam Samnar border (Vietnamese border). After having breakfast, you will arrive at the border’s check-point. After formalities, the ship departs for Sa Dec. Dinner is server on board. The vessel moors overnight.

Day 6 - Sa Dec – Vinh Long

After breakfast, you will take a cruise tour to Sa Dec by local boats. At noon, you come back to the cruise to have lunch. After lunch, the cruise sails to Vinh Long- a brick and pottery factory and the Binh Hoa Phuoc Islet Nursery of Fruit Trees. Here, you visit a typical local dwelling and a show room of traditional farming tools. You will have a chance to explore tha life of local people. The unbridled warmth of the locals makes this a destination par excellence. Lan Diep cruises towards Cai Be for a short panoramic. Then, it sails to My Tho where it moors overnight.

Day 7 – Cai Be – My Tho

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the mainland and a short panoramic tour of My Tho by local boats. Here, you will have the opportunity to discover a prosperous city of about 100,000 inhabitants, famous for its myriad fruit orchards, gardens and vast rice fields with favorable climatic condition. The countryside is home to one of the most luxuriant gardens of Vietnam with coconut palms and banana and mango trees. You will return to the Lan Diep and cruise towards Saigon. A sumptuous farewell dinner is served and the Lan Diep moors overnight.

Day 8 – My Tho – Saigon

After breakfast, the Lan Diep departs for Saigon. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on board before arriving at Saigon Port.
