Taking the inspiration from the early design of two smart naval architects, Cox and Steven, L’Amant Cruise is designed follow the classic 1930’s style which combines traditional boat structure with contemporary comforts. Operated since 2009, L’Amant has dimensions of 39 meter in length and 2 meter in wide, which can accommodate 24 passengers.

L’Amant Cruise has 12 cabins in which a half is located on the main deck and the rest is in the upper deck. These 12-double-bed suites has the space of 16m2 and well equipped with wardrobe, centralized individually controlled air conditioning, private balcony, a large glass sliding door dressed with curtains, bathroom with toilet, shower and hairdryer, 220V sockets, house phone, mini-safe, luggage storage, writing desk, and one stool for the writing desk and private balcony.

Day 1: My Tho/ Cai Be/ Vinh Long

At 11.30 am, you need to arrive at My Tho Tourist Pier on time to check in on board. A delectable lunch will be served as L’Amant sets sail to Cai Be. Your Mekong River cruise will start in Cai Be floating market by local sampan. The sampan will take you crossing through numerous arroyos, visiting an ancient colonial house and a rice popcorn factory and taste local specialties. Then, re-embark to the cruise, you can watch the breathtaking sunset in the sundeck. L’Amant Cruise depart to Vinh Long. In the early evening, the vessel will drop anchor near Vinh Long (after My Thuan Bridge) for overnight. Let’s enjoy your dinner followed by watching the projection of the film “L’Amant” or “Indochhine”.
Day 2: Vinh Long/ Sa Dec

After savoring delicious breakfast, L’Amant Cruise heads towards Sa Dec. Upon arrival, it is time to check out. Afterwards, you will be transferred to a local boat to reach Sa Dec City and be ready for a thrilling excursion in this old-fashioned town, which is well-known for its flowers and bonsai trees. This is also a place where a famous writer, Marguerite Duras spent her childhood. Along the journey, you have a great opportunity to visit Huynh Thuy Le’s ancient house, which is described as the house of the Chinese in Marguerite Duras’ novel and other places such as Chinese temple, tomb of L’Amant, local school where Marguerite’s mother taught, and her house. On the way back, you can take a stroll in boisterous market of the town. Trip ends at 11.00 am.

Upon arrival, you can make a tour by bicycle to visit Tien Chau ancient pagoda and tropical orchards and explore daily life of Mekong’s inhabitants. Your trip will continue in a traditional house. Morning excursion will take place in 4 floating markets of Chau Doc, the border city with Cambodia by a small boat. In the early morning, you can see tens of sampans gathering to trade fruits and vegetables in the surprising ambiance. When the boat arrives in a floating fishing farm where thousands of fishes are breed for export, you can have a visit in a Cham Village. In the afternoon, you will visit Sam Mountain – a popular pilgrimage site where you can see many Chinese, Cham, and Khmer temples. Returning onboard, a farewell dinner is waiting you to enjoy.
Day 5: Chau Doc/ Phnom Penh

In the afternoon, do not forget to attend in a cooking class where you can learn how to cook traditional Vietnamese dishes. Besides, you can taste Mekong fruits and relax on the sun deck. For those who get interested, Captain will show the cockpit as the ship continues moving upstream towards Vam Nao. The vessel will drop anchor at Long Xuyen. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 3: Long Xuyen/ Cai San canal/ Rach Soi

In this day, L’Amant Cruise will start sailing down another main branch of Mekong River (Hau River). As arriving in Long Xuyen, you will have a stop to visit its museum and local markets by rickshaw. Later, re-embark the cruise for lunch on board. En route to Rach Soi, you can admire the incessant crisscrossing of junks and sampans. The vessel will arrive in Rach Soi in the afternoon.
Day 4: Rach Soi / Ha Tien

After breakfast, you will depart by coach to Tri Ton, a place which is famous for its numerous Khmer sanctuaries. Visiting Khmer temples, then, you will enjoy a local lunch and continue your excursion to small provincial border town for discovering its markets and colonial houses. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 5: Ha Tien/ Hai Tac Archipelago/ Ba Lua Archipelago

Today, L’Amant Cruise will head to Hai Tac archipelago, which was earlier known as the Pirate Islands used to be home base of Khmer Pirates. In the afternoon, you can relax in a cooking demonstration for observing how to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes. Besides, do not forget to try Mekong fruits. Later, you will visit one of the islands with its fisherman villages prior to sail to Ba Lua Archipelago. In the evening, let’s enjoy a freshly caught seafood dinner.
Day 6: Ba Lua Archipelago/ Hon Chong/ Ha Tien

In the morning, the vessel will pass though many clustered islets of Ba Lua Archipelago. If the weather is permitted, you can take a stroll in an island and drench yourself in warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Returning onboard, you will participate in a farewell dinner.
Day 7: Ha Tien disembarkation

After enjoying your last breakfast onboard, you will disembark at 8.00 am. You will go through the Prek Chak border gate in Ha Tien and enter in Cambodia. Your Mekong cruise ends.

Infant below 4 years old can share the cabin with their parents without extra charge but baby cot is not available (no extra bedding).
