Plans of Hung Temple Festival 2015 announced

Hung King Death Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival 2015 will take place in six days in the coordination with participation of five provinces, including Son La, Phu Yen, Dac Mong, Tien Giang, and Bac Lieu, along with many outstanding cultural activities.

According to Phu Tho People’s Committee, the plan of Death Anniversary of Hung Vuong - Hung Temple Festival 2015 will take place in 6 days. The death anniversary of Hung Kings and Hung Temple Festival 2015 will have many cultural activities promising to bring a deep impression in the hearts of tourists. This is one of the most important festivals in Vietnam. There are two parts in this festival: ceremony and festival. The part of ceremony will include activities such as offering incense to commemorate Hung Kings, Lac Long Quan national death anniversary, offering incense to commemorate Au Co, and palanquin procession of communes nearby to Hung Temple. The Hung King Festival will be broadcasted lively on April 28 (the 10th day of the third lunar month). Phu Tho Province has deployed a meeting to announce plans to organize Death Anniversary of Hung Vuong - Hung Temple Festival in 2015. Accordingly, the festival will be held in six days, from April 23 to 28 (ie 5th to 10th of 3rd lunar month) at the historic area of Hung Temple in Viet Tri City of Phu Tho Province.

The part of ceremony will include activities such as offering incense to commemorate Hung Kings, Lac Long Quan national death anniversary, offering incense to commemorate Au Co, and palanquin procession of communes nearby to Hung Temple. The Hung King Festival will be broadcasted lively on April 28 (the 10th day of the third lunar month). In ceremony part, there are activities held in the historic area Hung Temple such as palanquin procession ceremony of communes near Hung King Temple; photo exhibition of materials and artifacts; competition of making Chung Cake; folk song festival; Northwest tourism fairs; cultural camps; fireworks; night music performance, and sport activities.

All activities will be organized in dignified, solemn way associated with honoring the tradition of worshiping Hung Kings – one of the most significant Vietnamese tradition. The festival will be the combination of folk traditional and modern cultural activities which widely spread throughout local community and tourists. At present, all levels and branches of Phu Tho are actively deploying contents assigned by organizing committee to prepare for the big traditional festival in Vietnam. The organization committee also arranges plans of traffic management, strengthening market management, checking food safety, assurance of environmental sanitation, fire prevention, and parking. The festival also requires to strengthen communication, security and order, provide public telephone hotline to receive timely information and deal with violations to minimize the unsettled state of guests; plans for rescue, rescue, timely response in all situations; inspection, timely maintaining routes, ensuring the safety of people during the festival.

Hung King Temple Festival is organized to educate the patriotic tradition, deeply grateful to Hung Kings and predecessors who contributed to building and defending the country, traditional moral education, consolidating national unity bloc of Vietnam... At the same time, the festival confirms efforts of Phu Tho province in the conservation of cultural heritage values of the home land, especially the heritage of "Xoan singing" and "Belief in worshiping Hung King". Simultaneously, synchronous implementing tasks and key solutions on preserving and promoting "Xoan singing in Phu Tho" and proposing to UNESCO in 2015 are important tasks. Honor the heritage value of "Worshiping Hung Kings in Phu Tho" as intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Through the organization of death anniversary of Hung Kings - Hung Temple Festival, cultural values of Hung Vuong era are honored and promoted.
