Vietnam Today Photo Exhibition in Tehran

Vietnam Today Photo Exhibition is held in Tehran on the 40-year Vietnam - Iran relation and tourism cooperations between two countries. The exhibition will take place from May 24 – 30 in 2015 at Gaytariyeh Park in Tehran.

Recently, at the Cultural Center of Gaytariyeh Park in Tehran, Embassy of Vietnam in Iran collaborated with Islamic Relations Cultural Organization (IRCO) and Tehran Department of Culture to organize the week of Vietnam Today Exhibition. The exhibition was held on the occasion of the 125th Birthday Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, 40 years of Vietnam - Iran relation, 5th decade of Vietnam - Iran relation, and to sign an MOU with Iran Tourism Development Corporation, the business department of the Organization of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts in Iran on pledging to support for promoting tourism cooperation and development between the two countries.

This is an important event marking the long-lasting relation between Vietnam and Iran. In the side of Iran, there were the participations of Mr. Mohajer - Director for East Asia - Pacific under Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Agahi - Director of Culture and Arts Cooperation Department under Iran Islamic Cultural  Relations Organization (ICRO), Mr. Mohammadi - Director of Cultural and Art Organization of Tehran City, and Mr. Aghazadeh - CEO and Member of the Group Management Board Iran Tourism Development, Business Department of the Iran Organization of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts. Also, there were presence of ambassadors of many countries in Tehran, members of Iran - Vietnam Friendship Association, and numerous Iranian officials and friends. In the side of Vietnam, there are participations of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Iran - Nguyen Hong Thach, along with officials and their family, and Vietnamese students in Iran. Representing to photography artists, Ha Kin photographer attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony of the Vietnam Today Photo Exhibition in Tehran, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach stresses the great life career of President Ho Chi Minh together with the heroic history of Vietnam, the meaning of the struggle to unify the country, traditional friendship between Vietnam and Iran, and wished to develop the economic and cultural relations with Iran. The Vietnamese Ambassador expressed his hope that the Vietnam Today Photo Exhibition will create a motivation to expand the cultural exchange activities between two countries in different cities. Ha Kin photographer expresses her thankfulness to Vietnamese Ambassador and friends in Iran for creating favorable conditions to explore about the country and people in Iran. She also displayed her achievements during two weeks in Iran at the Vietnam Today Exhibition Week. Speeches of Mohajer, Mohammadi, Agahi and Aghazadeh underlined that although two countries have good political relation, Vietnamese people and Iranian people do not have enough information about culture and art of each other. Therefore, the establishing cultural links, including photo exhibitions introducing the life of the people is precious occasions for the people of Vietnam and Iran to learn about each other's culture as a foundation to promote relations of all fields between Vietnam and Iran.

Although having limitations in cultural relations between two countries, Iranian people always respect Vietnamese people for the heroic resilience against aggressors. Iranian delegates appreciated efforts of the Vietnam Embassy in Iran in diplomatic cultural activities, expressed hope of often having activities of cultural exchange as the week photo exhibition of "Vietnam Today" at different localities of both countries in order to contribute to promoting the traditional friendly relations. Exhibitors have photos of four photographers: Duong Minh Long with photos of Halong Bay, Nguyen Viet Thanh with photos of Vietnamese mountainous ethnic groups, Tran Viet Duc with photos of life of Cham Islamic people, and Ha Kin with photo reportage about Iranian life. The solemn and cozy ceremony highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy in cultivating Vietnam - Iran relationships. The photo exhibition will last from May 24 to May 30, 2015.
