In the early June 2014, Schneider Electric Company (a French company) was officially opened the second factory in Amata Industrial Park (Dong Nai province). Along with the new factory, Schneider Electric also finished the expansion of distribution system in the north of Vietnam, which is located in VSIP Bac Ninh. The new distribution center was officially put in use. Until now, Schneider Electric has two factories (the first one situated in Bien Hoa Industrial Zone, Dong Nai province) in Vietnam to meet the increasing demands of not only domestic markets but also exporting markets such as Indonesia, New Zealand, and Australia, etc.
Apart from Schneider Electric, Casino is also another famous French investor in Vietnam. Casino is one of the leading retail groups of France and Europe. The group has been developed a chain of nearly 30 supermarkets under the brand name "BigC". The success of BigC is something quite clear and indisputable.
Mr Cagnard said that French enterprises highly appreciate the potentials in the development of Vietnam economy as well as the opportunity of the country to promote production and the competitiveness in ASEAN. Although French investment capital into Vietnam at the moment is modest, the capital flows will sharply increase in the next times when a plenty of French companies increase investment in Vietnam. Some fields that French firms are interested including retails, tourism, medical equipments, green technologies, telecommunications and new technologies.
In the reply of media interview, a French Ambassador, Jean - Noel Poirier informed that French enterprises are particularly active in terms of environment, energy and Transportation in Vietnam. For example, GDF Suez, Veolia and EDF are trying to implement developing solutions for Vietnam industry in accordance with the strategic partnership and the demands of the country. Market in Vietnam is a dynamic and potential market. It is becoming a favorable destination for French enterprises which is supported by the good relation, historical values and mutual understandings between two countries.
In September 2013, Vietnam and France established the strategic partnership. From that time, the government of two countries has actively promoting the relation through exchanges and cooperation in all aspects. For instance, in terms of business cooperation, VietJetAir bought 63 French Airbus and followed by a CFM motorized agreement for the first package of these airplanes. It is expected that on 21st - 22nd of July, 2014, Ms. Fleur Pellerin, a Minister of French Foreign Trade will visit Vietnam.
