The pilot role of Vietnam in building and forming ASEAN Community is the spotlight of investors and businesses in the world. Therefore, ideas, views and information about Vietnam and ASEAN, the message of Vietnamese leaders are being concerned by international business community. With that sense, in Davos, WEF will focus on organizing major events of investment in Vietnam, including the event, "Night of Vietnam" with the participation of many politicians and leading business. On November 28th, at the headquarters of Vietnam government, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Mr. Philipp Roesler – CEO of World Economic Forum had a talk. The CEO is having a working visit and participating in the workshop “Enterprises’ role in improving national competitiveness in international integration”. The workshop was held by Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and WEF in Hanoi.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed Mr. Philipp Roesler revisiting Vietnam and attending the workshop on national competitiveness, a content interested in by Vietnam and WEF. Appreciating the effective and good cooperation between Vietnam and WEF, the Prime Minister proposed WEF for close coordination with Vietnam to assess national competitiveness annually. Especially, the most important thing is indicating weaknesses, causes, directions, and solutions to deal and enhance national competitiveness of Vietnam. The Prime Minister said that, at the invitation of WEF’s Chairman, Prof. Klause Schwab, high-ranking Vietnam delegation will participate in World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland) in January 2015. Prime Minister proposed WEF for supporting and organizing events in Vietnam with the participation of politicians and world leading business for Vietnam to inform and dialogue about the situations, prospects and orientations in the development of Vietnam economy as well as the prospects of the ASEAN Community.
Vietnam will coordinate effectively to contribute to the success of the upcoming WEF in Davos. General Director of WEF, Philipp Roesler said that the economy of Vietnam with result and potential in the future, especially in the formation of ASEAN Community at the end of 2015. In terms of national competitiveness, Mr. Philipp Roesler said this was a global problem; therefore, WEF will coordinate and support Vietnam in the evaluation and enhancement national competitiveness. He also said that WEF would be willing to support and join important events and economic forums of Vietnam and region in the coming year. Reportedly, the workshop “Enterprises’ role in improving national competitiveness in international integration” organized by Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and WEF in Hanoi with the participation of Mr. Philipp Roesler, representing the WEF. The workshop focused on some key contents as the relationship between the competitiveness of enterprises and national competitiveness; experience of other countries in promoting the role of business in improving national competitiveness; policy recommendations for Vietnam to improve competitiveness in Vietnam enterprises.
