Particularly, when they try to get acquainted with you, it is the germ of a robbery or fraud cases. For example, they might lead you to the secluded and quiet place then snatch or they ask you to contribute some money for the poor. Therefore, the best thing to do is to refuse and leave that place and go to secure areas such as supermarkets, shopping centers, entertainment areas, police station. Before traveling, you should check carefully police stations in the city or this area and the place where you plan to go on map. 

When going out, you shouldn't wear and bring valuable items as watch, gold, jewelry, expensive cameras. These items can be also stolen in the hotel (except for luxurious hotels). So you should not bring high valuable items, but if you want to bring or have brought, the best way is to place them at the front desk of the hotel or can be stored carefully in a room.

Avoid using ATM  at night, even during the day you should also be careful if you see the locals or someone wandering around there, you should stop intent on withdrawal.
