Phu Hai Prison is regarded the oldest one in Con Dao prison system. Here is seen as the hell on earth with many fiercest methods of tortures. Phu Hai Prison is also the main prison in Con Dao. Many key political cadres were imprisoned and tortured there.

Con Dao Prison is one of the most brutal prisons in the world. This jailed a lot of political cadres and patriotic Vietnamese who fought against the French colonialism and American imperialism. This prison used to be dubbed “the living hell on earth”.
