Earning from Asia Miles:
- First Class: 150% of actual miles flown
- Business Class: 125% of actual miles flown
- Premium Economy Class: 110% of actual miles flown
- Economy Class: 100%, 50% or 25% of actual miles flown

Members, if traveling and buying duty-free products of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, can earn Asia Miles easily by using services of hotels, dining and using creadit card. Asia Miles has more than 500 partners in nine fields all over the world for members to choose.

Passengers can check in online before approaching the airport in flights of Hong Kong Airlines for the following airfields:

Passengers checking in online for flights of Hong Kong Airlines can:
- check in from 2-36 hours before the schedule departure time
- check in for passenger’s companion
- select seats in flight
- pass the security gate by self-print boarding pass or mobile boarding pass
- use self check-in counter at Hong Kong airport to print boarding pass and check in baggage
- cancel check-in procedure for themselves and their companion

Web check-in for Hong Kong Airline flights include the following steps:

Step 1: import name of passenger, number of ticket, and origin airport
Step 2: select flight
Step 3: confirm notices
Step 4: import detail of passenger’s travel documents
Step 5: select seat in flight
Step 6: confirm check-in procedure
Step 7: print boarding pass or get mobile boarding pass

Passengers who are owning Hong Kong Airlines tickets cannot check-in online, if:
- passengers use wheelchair or need medical assistance
- passengers are unaccompanied children, or travel with infants
- passengers travel in group, and have the same booking code with the group
- passengers buy tickets of I and E classes
- passengers have ticket number beginning with 851
- passengers travel on cooperative flights between Hong Kong Airlines and other carriers
- passengers are prohibited to use web check-in by Hong Kong Airlines.

There is no limitation on the number of pieces of checked baggage in flights of Hong Kong Airlines:

- Passenger of Business Class can bring 30kg (66lbs); while those of Economy Class can bring 20kg (44lbs).
- Infant under 2 not occupying a seat can bring 10kg (22lbs).
- Member of Fortune Wings Club can bring additional 20kg (44lbs) for Gold Member, and additional 10kg (22lbs) for Silver Member.

The maximum weight and total dimensions of each piece of checked baggage do not exceed 32kg (70lbs) and 158cm/62". Overweight and oversized items (Except for mobility aids, medical equipment, sporting equipment) must be repacked or divided into smaller and lighter pieces; otherwise, they will not be carried on board.

Fee for excess baggage will be applied to any oversized and overweith baggage. Passengers should contact to know more about excess baggage rates.

Baby strollers and wheelchairs must be carried as checked baggage.

Oversized and overweight items will be accepted, if there are available space on board on the day of departure.

For through journeys where the passenger travels with both Business class and Economy class, Hong Kong Airline baggage allowance shall be granted in accordance with each ticket class. Normally, the baggage allowance will be regulated according to the ticket of Business Class.

Fee for excess baggage is calculated per kilogram (2.2 lbs) for routes:
- Between Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia: 10 USD/ kg
- From Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia to Japan, Maldives: 20 USD/kg
- From Japan, Maldives to Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia: 20 USD/kg
- Between Japan and Maldives: 30 USD/kg
