+ What are services for infants in flights of Cathay Pacific?

Special orders

• Infants in all aircrafts are provided with special baby bassinets and a wide range of baby food
• Each aircraft has at least two toilets with special fold-down tables for changing diapers.

Please be advised that any personal food items brought on board for consumption should not require reheating nor chilling. For hygiene reasons, our crew will not be able to re-heat nor chill food items brought on board by passengers.
+ How can infants be accepted to travel with Cathay Pacific flights?

Special orders

• A healthy newborn infant is accepted to travel after the first week of delivery

• The infant must be accompanied by a parent / guardian

• Infant fare will be added in fare of parent / guardian, and the infant does not occupy a seat

• The infant must be under 24 months throughout the whole journey. If the infant turns two years old before the return trip, applicable child's fare, tax, fee and charges apply.

• A maximum of two infants is accepted to travel with each parent / guardian under the following conditions:
1. One of the two infants must reach 6 months old and occupy an infant car safety seat. The applicable child fare will be charged
2. The other infant must be secured onto the parent / guardian with a child restraint device. Infant fare will be charged
3. The parent / legal guardian / travelling companion should bring their own infant car safety seat which must comply with the Cathay Pacific approved specifications.

• Infant must be placed in the same cabin with parent/guardian. Infant fare has some certain conditions.
+ How about bassinet of infants in CathayPacific Airlines flights?

Special orders

• All our aircraft are equipped with special baby bassinets. A bassinet measures 76.20cm (30") x 38.10cm (15") x 20.32cm (8") and can carry up to 12kgs
• Please note however a baby older than 6 months may feel uncomfortable in a bassinet
• A request for a baby bassinet (BSCT) can be made at time of reservation if passenger is travelling with an infant.

• Children 3-6 years in flights from/ to Europe, North America, Australasia, South Africa, India and Middle East will be gifted a colourful pack with stationery, games and activity books

• Special infant and junior meals are also available.

+ How about Cathay Pacific services of unaccompanied children and minors?

Special orders

• Children from 3 months to 6 years old are not permitted to travel alone, unless they are accompanied by a person of 18 years of age or above
• Children aged 6 to less than 12 years, travelling alone, must be registered as Unaccompanied Minors unless they are travelling together with a person of 18 years of age or above
• Children aged 12 to under 18 years can travel as Unaccompanied Minors only at the request of their parent or guardian. If no request is made, there will not be any special arrangements.

Note: Services for Unaccompanied Minors must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Limitation
• Cathay Pacific will not accept Unaccompanied Minors with any itineraries that involve a transfer exceeding 5 hours; and connecting flights must be arriving / departing from the same airport
• Unaccompanied Minor must check in earlier; however Cathay Pacific will not assume responsibility of the minor until 90 minutes prior departure.

Cost of service
Special booking fees and surcharges will be applied, by sector basis:
• Between Hong Kong and all destinations in Africa, Europe, Middle East, North America, South Asia Subcontinent and Southwest Pacific: HKD500 / USD64
• Between Bangkok and Dubai: HKD500 / USD64
• Other routes: HKD200 / USD26.

Note:
Not all flights are eligible to accept Unaccompanied Minors. Therefore, please contact us to have more detail.

Parent/Guardian is required to remain at the airport and stay contactable until the flight is airborne
• If the flight is delayed for more than 60 minutes of scheduled departure time, the parent/guardian will be notified.
• Cathay Pacific will care for your child throughout the journey until the child passenger is collected by the nominated adult at the arriving airport.
+ I need disability assistance in my flight with Cathay Pacific Airlines?

Special orders

Cathay provide priority seats for disabled passengers and will try its best to make arrangements for these passengers with the best seats. However, to ensure safety standards, passengers with mobility problems will not be seated near the emergency exits and near the duty of staff

Furthermore, there is no limit on the number of passengers with a disability which may travel on a flight, except to comply with Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department safety requirements.

There might be unpredictable circumstances such as weather or mechanical problems, but Cathay will do its best to accommodate passenger needs.

Accessible Lavatories
A lavatory inflight is accessible for passengers using wheelchair. Cabin crew can provide you with assistance moving to and from the lavatory door, but will not be able to assist you inside the lavatory.

In-Flight Wheelchairs
All of our aircraft are equipped with on-board wheelchairs to assist passengers with mobility issues in moving throughout the cabin and our cabin crew can provide you with assistance moving within the aircraft cabin.

Cathay Pacific will provide wheelchair if passengers request. To ensure the best service, passengers please contact the airline about the level of service when booking.

Cathay will provide passenger with wheelchair services and personnel assistance without any extra charge. Staff will help passengers in moving from the airport to the aircraft door (depending on the conditions of the airport). If passengers need help in flight, there will be wheelchair and most affordable seats for passengers. If the group of 10 passengers who need wheelchairs, please inform us at least 48 hours before flying.

If you are travelling in a group of 10 or more people requiring wheelchairs, please contact us at least 48 hours before scheduled departure.

Passengers travelling with their own wheelchair
Passengers with a disability may use their own manual or battery-powered wheelchair to the departure gate, and when airport facilities permit, to the aircraft door.
Wheelchair Storage Onboard

Cathay Pacific provides a priority designated space in the cabin to stow one wheelchair, with the following conditions:
- The wheelchair is collapsible without having to remove the wheels or otherwise disassembling it.
- Stowage priority is based on a first come, first serve basis for passengers who request to stow his/her wheelchair in the cabin. The wheelchair will be returned to you upon your flight’s arrival.

Wheelchair Check-in
Non-collapsible manual or battery-powered wheelchairs are accepted as checked baggage. These items can be handed in at the check-in counter or at the departure gate and can be returned to you at the aircraft door. In some case, the airline will have to disassemble your wheelchair or scooter. They will reassemble the equipment for passengers. It is helpful if you bring along the following items to the airport:
- Things go along with the wheelchair and the batteries
- Specialized tools to disassemble and reassemble the wheelchair if needed.
- For wheelchair using lithium-ion batteries, it must have the United Nations (UN) test document for allowance.

For passengers with disabilities there is no charge for transporting wheelchairs.

Escort
In most cases, passengers with disabilities may travel on their own. However, it is a requirement that you travel with a assistant if passengers is not in a good condition when moving on board, and in some emergencies.

Inflight crew will be able to assist passengers with:

- Moving to and from your seat
- Preparing for eating
- Transfer to and from the door of the aircraft toilet using our inflight wheelchair.

The staff are unable to provide passengers with any assistance for personal care needs inflight such as eating/drinking, administration of medications, elimination functions... If you require assistance with any of these, we recommend that you travel with an appropriate personal care attendant or make alternative arrangements.

Walking Canes, Crutches and Walking Frames
Walking canes, frames, and crutches may be carried in the aircraft cabin, provided they are stowed in accordance with cabin safety requirements. If your walking frame is collapsible and cabin crew can stow it safely, it can also be carried in the checked baggage.

For safety reasons, Cathay Pacific may require some passengers as bellows to travel with a companion that can provide assistance in comprehending and responding appropriately in emergency:

• Passengers are travelling in a stretcher or incubator or require medical attention during the flight.
• Passengers are unable to comprehend or respond properly to safety instructions.
• Passengers have mobility impairment.
• Passengers has severe hearing and vision impairments and cannot communicate with cabin crew.

The flight attendants are unable to provide any assistance for personal care needs inflight such as eating/drinking, administration of medications... If you require assistance with any of these, you are highly recommended to travel with a personal care attendant or make alternative arrangements.
+ What are passengers with hearing impairment supported by Cathay Airlines?

If passengers ask for support during Cathay flight, passengers should let them know how they may assist you when booking or during check in.

The assistance includes:
• Meet and assist service to escort you to and from the aircraft.
• Individual safety briefings.
• Subtitles on our in-flight safety videos.
• Priority boarding.

If you are travelling with your accredited service dog, please contact the airline.
You should bring hearing aids, special headsets, audio-receivers or other battery operated assistive listening devices. These devices can be used during all phases of flight. If you plan to bring onboard a transmitting device, please inform the airline at least 48 hours in advance to ensure that it is compliant with the flight's safety requirements.

For safety and operational reasons, passengers will not be allowed to plug any assistive devices into the aircraft’s power supply. You must instead supply your own power in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Tele-text / Text Telephone Service (TTY)
Tele-text or text telephone service is available for passengers with hearing impairment in North America.
+ How does Cathay Pacific help passengers with visual impairment?

Special orders

If passengers with visual disadvantages request any assistance in flight, please contact the airline when booking or check-in for good preparation.

The airline can support:
• Meet and assist service to escort you to and from the aircraft.
• Individual safety briefings.
• Priority boarding.
• Assistance inflight in moving to and from your seat.
• Cabin crew can read the menu to you prior to meal service and explain where all the food is placed on your tray.

If passengers use a cane or other supportive device, it may be carried on board with passenger. The cane needs to lie flat on the floor and should not block any emergency exit or protrude into the aisle. You may ask cabin crew for assistance in loading and retrieving the cane in case it is not collapsible or if it cannot be stowed under your seat. All such assistive devices will be carried free of charge.
