In case of delayed baggage, BA will take responsibility for damage unless it took all reasonable measures to avoid the damage or it was impossible to take such measures. The liability for baggage delay is limited to 1,131 SDRs (approximately £1,000 or 1,230 EUR).

In case of lost baggage, British Airways is responsible for destruction, loss or damage to baggage up to 1,131 SDRs (approximately £1,000 or EUR 1,230). If it is checked baggage, it is partly the liability of BA even if not at fault, uncles the baggage was defective. In case, it is not checked baggage, BA is only liable if at fault.

In case your baggage is damaged, delayed, lost or destroyed. You need to write and report the problem to the airline as soon as possible. If it is checked baggage, you need report to the airline in writing and complain within 07 days. And, in case of delay within 21 days, from the date on which the baggage was placed at your disposal.

- Passengers need to process the check-in for BA flights at an airport or check in desk if they are travelling in a group of more than 9 people.
- If your child is travelling alone, or with an adult but on a separate booking, you will need to go to a check-in desk.

If you're departing from London Gatwick North Terminal on a British Airways flight, that leaves before 15:15hrs, you are able to check in, collect your boarding pass and leave your baggage the day before the scheduled departure time. Of course you could also process the check-in on ba.com from 24 hours before your flight departure time and simply take your travel documents, passport and baggage to Gatwick the day before you fly.

London Gatwick: a minimum of 3 hours between flights

If you book a journey that involves changing airports, you will need to make your own way (at your own expense) between them.

Early check-in - British Airways check-in currently opens at 04:30, so you can check in for any flight that day and we'll keep your baggage in a secure area. This service will be available until 20:00.

Twilight check-in - Early check-in is also available for passengers who are travelling on a flight the next day, up to 09:30. If you would like to drop you bags off the night before, we'll be able to accept your bags from 16:00 until 20:00 the night prior to your travel.

For up to nine people on the same booking you can check-in online. For ten or more people you will need to Check-in at a Kiosk in the airport.
