+ How much does it cost to arrange champagne, chocolates or a cake to be given to someone on British Airways flight e.g. for their birthday or wedding anniversary?

Special baggage

British Airways is unable to arrange for prepaid gifts such as bottles of champagne, celebration cakes, or boxes of chocolates to be presented to any of customers on board our aircraft. Additionally, due to the safety and security reasons, our airport staff aren't able to accept delivery of gifts to be presented to a customer when they check in or board a flight.

If you give a wrapped present to someone travelling, to open during their flight, please ensure that it is suitable to be taken through security (for example, liquids are not permitted in volumes greater than 100ml and must be packed within the customer's one clear plastic, sealable 'liquids' bag - no larger than 20cm x 20cm). Anything that is gift-wrapped will be subject to security checks, x-rays and unfortunately could be unwrapped for further inspection.
+ What are the rules on taking food into another country?

Special baggage

British Airways flights offer meals or snacks as standard, and on the longer international flights the airlines will provide a wide variety of special meals to meet for many tastes and requirements. But you're always free to bring your own food on board to enjoy during your flight. There are a few restrictions on what you are allowed to bring through security so please read the information below to avoid any disappointment at the airport.

Baggage restrictions

British Airways have a no smoking policy on all aircrafts and in our airport lounges, even electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), as they emit a small amount of mist which can make it appear that a customer is actually smoking.

Passengers are advised that if they would normally expect to use an e-cigarette whilst travelling, that they investigate the use of nicotine patches or other methods to help them during journey.

Please be aware that some countries have totally banned the use of e-cigarettes. British Airways will not sell e-cigarettes when flying to these destinations, but please make sure that you check whether your destination allows e-cigarettes before bringing your own on your trip. British Airways cannot accept any liability for the loss of your e-cigarettes if taken to a country where they are banned.

Some countries have also banned the sale of e-cigarettes, but personal use is still permitted. The laws are being amended regularly, so please make sure that you thoroughly check the restrictions, if any, for the country you are travelling to.
