Baggage accepted for carriage contains such articles, effects or other property of passengers as are necessary for wear, use comfort, or convenience, in connection with the trip. Airlines have the right (except for diplomatic bags) but not the obligation to verify, in the presence of the passengers, their baggage’s contents.

Checked baggage (also called registered baggage) includes articles which are weighed and carried in the baggage or cargo compartment of the airplane. They are not accessible to the passengers during the flight time. These articles are carefully labeled with special baggage tags showing the station of arrival point and a serial number. A portion of this tag is attached to the ticket of passenger for purposes of identification only and must as a rule be surrendered at the station of arrival. Garuda Indonesia regulates each single piece of item or checked-in baggage does not exceed 70 lbs/32 kg.

1, The total free baggage allowance for passenger traveling on Domestic Services as follows:
For adult and children: First class 40 kg, Business class 30 kg, Economy class 20 kg.
For infants: First class20 kg, Business class 10 kg, Economy class 10 kg.
Infants without a seat shall be permitted 10kg (22lb) and 1 checked or carries on item with fully collapsible stroller/pushchair or infants carrying basket or infants car seat, which may be brought in the passenger cabin subject to the space availability.

Extra allowance for Garuda miles Member (Group or Individual):
- Silver Card: max 5 kg
- Gold Card/EC Plus Card: max 15 kg
- Platinum Card/GIC Card: max 20 kg

Extra allowance for FFP Skyteam: SkyTeam Elite and SkyTeam Elite Plus qualify for extra FBA on any Skyteam Member Airline operated flight:
- SkyTeam Elite: extra 10 kg (weight concept) / 1 pc (piece concept)

2, The total free baggage allowance for passenger traveling on International Services:
For adult and children:

A, First class: Free baggage allowance: 50 kg, except:
- From JED to All destinations: 50 kg + 5 liters zamzam water
- Between JPAll destination: 64 kg (Weight of each bag may not exceed 32 kg)

B, Business class: Free baggage allowance: 40 kg, except:
- From JED to All destinations: 40 kg + 5 liters zamzam water
- Between DPS and DIL: 30 kg
- Between JP to All Destination: 64 kg (Weight of each bag may not exceed 32 kg).
- Between US to All destinations: 2 pieces with 3 dimensions of each bag may not exceed 62 in. (158cm) and the weight of each bag may not exceed 70 lb. (32 Kg).

C, Economy class: Free baggage allowance: 30 kg, except:
- Adult (except ticket issued in KSA): From JED to All destinations: 30 kg + 5 liters zamzam water.
- General pax with ticket issued in KSA: From JED to All destinations: 40 kg + 5 liters zamzam water.
- General pax with ticket issued in KSA: From All destinations to JED: 40 kg.
- Adult between DPS and DIL: 20 kg.
- Adult between JP to All destinations: 46 kg (Weight of each bag may not exceed 32 Kg)
- Pax paying Student Fare(SD): 40 kg
- Pax paying Ship’s Crew Fare(SC): 40 kg
- Adult between US to All destinations: 2 pieces with 3 dimensions of each bag may not exceed 62 in. (158cm) and the weight of each bag may not exceed 50 lb (23 Kg).

For Infants:
First class: Free baggage allowance: 20 kg.
Business and Economy class: Free baggage allowance: 10 kg.
Note that Business/ Economy class between US to all destinations: 1 pieces with 3 dimensions of each bag may not exceed 45 in. (115cm) and the total weight of each bag may not exceed 22 lb (10 Kg).

Yes, they are possible to carry one wheelchair and/ or other necessary assisting devices freely they are dependent upon.

For through itineraries where the passenger flies partly on F class and partly on C or Y class service, the free baggage allowance on each portion of travel shall apply to the service for which the fee is paid; provided further that where a passenger who has made a payment the F class fare travels on C or Y class service, the free baggage allowance shall be applicable to the F class service. In certain cases, owing to high excess baggage charges, it may be more advantageous to the passenger to travel at the F class fare for the whole itinerary.

Yes, it is carried as check baggage, but to avoid extra charges for baggage which oversize or overweight, your checked baggage does not exceed the weight of 50 pounds (23 kg) and not exceed 62 inches (158 cm) with total dimensions (length + width + height).

You will be surely required to re-pack your baggage if the total weight of baggage exceeds 32kg. You need to contact your local Garuda Indonesia office before your date of travel if you wish to carry any bag that is over 32kg.

Items are carried freely in the passenger cabin, passengers will be responsible for their own items. Unchecked baggage need to be placed into the overhead compartment or under the passenger seat on the aircraft, according to inside arrangement of the aircraft cabin crew. Cabin baggage may only include those suitable articles which are transported in the passenger cabin. Total three dimensions do not exceed 115 cm (length 56 cm, width 36 cm or depth 23 cm), or weight of 7 kg.

Exception for Economy class CRJ and ATR: maximum dimension of41 cm long, 34 cm wide or 17 cm deep, however total three dimensions do not exceed 92 cm or weight of 7 kg. Passengers note that special regulations are applicable for the transportation of bulky, fragile, valuable and diplomatic baggage in the cabin of passenger.

Items/goods such as money, medicine, securities, valuable, jewelry, telephone cellular and documents (paper documents and electronic documents e.g USB and EHD) shall not be comprised in checked baggage, but should be brought by passenger at all times.

Passengers are also allowed to bring articles in as below which may be carried in addition to free baggage allowance:
- Laptop
- A hand bag, a pocket book or purse
- An overcoat, wrap or blanket
- An umbrella or walking stick
- A small camera and / or a pair of binoculars
- A reasonable amount of reading matters for in flight
- Infant-carrying basket or bassinet
- A fully collapsible wheelchair or a pair of crutches for passenger use provided that he is dependent upon them.

All Articles are considered as dangerous goods which shall not be transported on an aircraft in a cabin held by passengers and flight deck, except in accordance with limited restrictions determined by the Authority or in the IATA DGR. Please make sure that you do not pack items determined in this list in your hand baggage or checked baggage. The list of banned items is as follows:

- Explosives, munitions, fireworks, and flares
- Security-type cases/boxes incorporating goods such as lithium batteries or pyrotechnics
- Compressed gases (flammable, non-flammable, or poisonous) such as butane, propane, aqualung cylinders, lighter fuels, or refills
- Lighters (butane, absorbed fuel, electric, battery-powered, novelty)
- Oxidizing substances such as bleaching powder and peroxides
- Flammable liquids such as paints and adhesives
- Flammable solids such as safety matches and articles which are easily ignited
- Disabling devices such as mace or pepper sprays, with irritant properties
- Poisons such as arsenic, cyanides, or insecticides
- Radioactive materials
- Corrosive materials such as mercury (which may be contained in thermometers or blood pressure gauges,) acids, alkalis, and wet cell batteries
- Meals-Ready-to-Eat (MREs)
- Firearms / parts of firearm such as revolvers, rifles, imitation firearms, pellet guns, ball-bearing guns, barrels, trigger assembly, etc
- Ammunition including blank, spent / empty cartridges
- Toys guns/gun shaped items or look-alike
- Any other substances which, during a flight, present a danger not covered above, such as magnetized, offensive, or irritating materials

Regarding the regulations for liquids, aerosols and gels are allowed in cabin baggage will affect passengers on international flights departing from all Indonesian airports. It is advised to pack carefully your cabin baggage accordingly so as to avoid unwanted inconvenience. Here are some concrete regulations concerning liquids, aerosols and gels:

- Liquids, aerosols and gels will only be permitted in cabin baggage if they are kept in containers with volumes of not more than 100 ml each.
- These containers must be brought in a clear, re-sealable plastic bag. The total volume of the bag does not exceed 1 liter.
- Each person is permitted to bring only one such plastic bag.
- The bag must be removed from cabin baggage and showed to security personnel for x-ray screening.

Liquids, aerosols and gels bought from duty-free shopping counters at the airport, located after security screening checkpoints, will be permitted onboard. However, these items must be packed in a transparent, sealed plastic bag. Receipts of the bought duty free items must be attached or enclosed in the bag. Passengers going to Australia or the US are advised to check with duty-free personnel before making their purchases.
