Bicycle is carried as checked baggage or cargo. Bicycle must be separately packed in a strong cardboard box. Tyres of the bicycle must be deflated, pedals are removed, and handlebars are turned and fixed lengthways. Maximum weight for the bicycle is 10kg.

For safety reasons of flight, dangerous items must not be carried in the baggage of passenger as below:

Compressed gases (flammable, non-flammable, and poisonous) such as oxygen, propane, butane, aqualung cylinders

Corrosives such as alkalis, acids, and wet cell batteries

Etiologic agents (bacteria, viruses, etc)

Explosives, munitions, fireworks, and flares

Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter or heater fuels, matches and articles which are easily ignited

Radio-active materials

Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powder peroxides

Poisons such as arsenic, cyanides, insecticides, weed killers

Mercury, magnetized material, offensive or irritating materials are listed in restricted items. Medicinal and toilet items, are necessary for the passenger during the journey, are allowed in small quantities such as kinds of perfumes, hair sprays, and medicines containing permitted alcohol.

If any of these dangerous items are found in a passenger’s hand luggage, they will be confiscated by security, and will not be returned to the passenger. Lao Airlines will not be liable or responsible for confiscated items.

Yes. For safe and secure reasons, Lao Airlines may require passengers to permit a search of the passengers and baggage in their attendance, and search the passengers’ baggage in their absence at the airport if they are unavailable for such permission to be sought, for the purpose to determine what they are possessing in their baggage, or whether their baggage contains any limited or prohibited item. In case passengers do not comply with such a request of the carrier, they may refuse to carry passengers or their baggage. In such case, the carrier will not agree liability for the carriage of passengers and their baggage, except by refunding the flight ticket(s) as the carrier’s current regulations.

It is advised that checked baggage shall not include valuable items as money, jewelry, precious metals, silverware, gold, securities, negotiable papers, or other high valuable items, business documents, passports and other important identification samples or documents.

Yes, we advise you to put valuable items in your hand baggage and it is advised that checked baggage shall not include valuable items.

Lao Airlines will not be held responsible for baggage damage because of force majeure including but not limited to war, strike, trade embargo, act of God and so on.

Lao Airlines will not be held responsible for damage to objects or items inside the baggage of passengers. In case items or objects contained in the baggage of passengers led to the damage of Lao Airline’s assets or other baggage of passengers, the passengers have to compensate all the damage and loss that Lao Airlines has to bear due to that damage.

Lao Airlines will not be held responsible for damage of gold, perishable items, money, jewelry, fragile, notes, bonds or any valuable documents as passports, identity papers, samples comprised in the checked baggage whether or not Lao Airlines knows the passengers put those objects or items in their baggage. Lao Airlines will not be responsible for handling complaints sent after time limits for any claim.

Lao Airlines will not be responsible for compensating for any damage and loss which is discovered outside the baggage claim area or in case passengers do not inform Lao Airlines about the damage right at the baggage claim area.

The regulation of Lao Airlines for Child and Infant tickets as follows:
1. Passengers from 2 to 11 years old are considered to be children and are they are required to buy child air tickets.
2. Passengers who are under two years old are considered to be infant and they are required to buy infant air tickets.
3. If you need for the infant to occupy a seat, a child ticket must be purchased. So according to the regulation, an Infant cannot occupy a seat alone.
4. Please refer reservation staff for child and infant fares.
5. Every adult can only carry infant or one child.

If you do not pay and your tickets have not been issued, your reservation is auto cancelled in fixed time. If payment has already been made before cancellation, you have to confirm us for ticket cancellation and cancellation charge will be deducted as term and conditions for cancellation and refund at our website and we will refund you the rest. Your tickets are cancelled, changed or refunded or not, it will depend on conditions of tickets you booked.

You only need present your printed e-tickets or noted e-tickets at check in counter of Lao Airlines at the airport for each your flight.
