Located on Lao Mountain's shelf, Heaven Kitchen Pagoda was built in 1,467 under King Le Thanh Tong. The pagoda was built on a rectangular-shaped piece of land running through the steep courtyard to the wall as the separation between the flat land and mountain behind the pagoda. The architectural style is known as "5 entrance with 3 steps". The unique architectural works contributes to promote Thien Tru Pagoda to become one of the fascinating tourist attractions in Hanoi. Worshipping in Thien Tru Pagoda

 

As one of the most famous pagodas in Hanoi, Thien Tru Pagoda owns extremely unique architectural characteristics. Going through the entrance gate, tourists will land on to the yard. Both 2 sides of yard are 2 blocks of cottage which are used as the accommodation for tourists in the festive days. Through the yard is the first shelf of the pagoda - it is also a courtyard. It is home to an incensory 3m high for burning incense. Keeping moving through the shelf, tourists will set foot on the second shelf - a higher courtyard. Stepping through the third shelf a little higher, through 2 three-gate entrance connecting to Tam Bao is the place of worshiping the Buddha. There are the drum on the left and the steeple on the right of the three-gate entrance. Behind Tam Bao is the sanctum of Thanh Mau, Buddhist library and Thien Thuy tower on the right.

 

Thien Tru Pagoda

 

Huong Son is a large area in Huong Son Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi. Along with many other pagodas in Huong Son in particular and Hanoi pagodas in general, Heaven Kitchen Pagoda is one of the pagodas built with the large scale under Le Dynasty. By the early twentieth century, there have been more than a hundred pagodas and caves in the region. In 1985, the pagoda started its construction to build an 8 roofed steeple at Thien Tru court. In particular, Venerable Thich Vien Thanh along with the management board of Huong (Perfume) Pagoda has planned and replenished throughout the region to build Thien Tru Pagoda right on the old foundation as today since 1989. From Heaven Kitchen Pagoda, tourists can visit numerous other pagodas - caves in Huong Son such as Hinh Bong Cave, Dai Binh Cave, Tien (Fairy) Pagoda, Giai Oan Pagoda, Cua Vong Temple, Huong Tich Cave... Thien Tru Pagoda is worth one of the unique tourist Hanoi attractions alluring the large number of tourists at home and abroad.

Huong (Perfume) Pagoda Festival yearly lasting from 6th January to mid-March (lunar calendar) is one of the largest festivals in Vietnam, attracting thousands of Buddhists, domestic and international tourists to go sightseeing and worship. It can be said that Thien Tru Pagoda is an artistic cultural architectural works in the reign of Le - Nguyen Dynasty attracting the large number of tourists in Hanoi tours. The pagoda retains the harmonious composition of Tam Bao, forecourt, sanctum, guest house, warehouse... with living facilities catering hundreds of people. It is worth the famous pagoda in the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century. Perfume Pagoda scenic spot in general and Thien Tru Pagoda in particular was recognized as national cultural historic relics by Ministry of Culture - Information. Thanks to its advantages, Thien Tru Pagoda thus displays its significant contribution to promote the image of Hanoi tourism closer to the numerous tourists.
